PX50 no Internet connectivity on the Guest Network with Deco unit connected via PLC
Hello,
I just bought a 3-pack Deco PX50 system and setup my network in the following way:
- Main Deco (name: Attic) connected to the Internet router via Ethernet cable and operating in Wi-Fi Router mode, placed in the attic of the house
- Deco 1 (name: Living Room) connected to the Main Deco via PLC + Wireless, placed in the living room of the house
- Deco 2 (name: Cabin) connected to the Main Deco via PLC, placed in the cabin out in the garden of the house
The Guest Network is also configured.
The idea is to use the Main Network for the people who live in the house, and let visitors and guests use the Guest Network when they visit.
The problem I'm facing is that when I connect to the Guest Network when I'm in the Cabin, there is NO Internet connectivity.. zero.
On the other hand, if I connect to the Main Network when I'm in the Cabin, it works just fine.
What's also strange is that if I connect to the Guest Network when I'm in the house, it also works fine.
So to recap:
- in the house: both Main Network and Guest Network work fine
- in the cabin: the Main Network works fine but the Guest Network shows no internet connectivity
The only difference I can tell between the Decos in the house and in the cabin is that those in the house are connected via PLC + Wireless while the one in the cabin is only connected via PLC (app says strong signal too), but I don't see why that would or should make a difference in Internet connectivity between the Main and Guest Networks.
All three Deco units are updated to the latest firmware version: 1.2.3 Build 20240724 Re. 28307 .
Device Isolation is disabled.
I tried all of the following but nothing helped:
- rebooted Deco units
- disabled Fast Roaming and Beamforming
- turned Guest Network off and on again
- forgot Guest Network and reconnected
- forgot Guest Network, changed its name and reconnected
I honestly don't know what else to try.
Also worth mentioning that I previously had three Deco P9 units in the exact same configuration and didn't have this problem, i.e. the Guest Network worked fine in the Cabin.
Note that before setting up the new Deco PX50 network, I deleted the previous main and guest networks details (i.e. the P9 networks) from all of my devices.

My issue is not similar to the one you linked, as that article described users not being able to connect to the Guest Network when Deco units are connected via Ethernet cable.
In my case, the Deco unit is not connected via Ethernet cable but, when I tried yesterday, via PLC.
This morning I noticed that the Cabin Deco was connected to the Main Deco via PLC + Wireless (like the other satellite Deco in the house, i.e. Living Room), so I went to the Cabin to test connectivity in the Guest Network, but it still didn't work.
So to recap:
- Cabin Deco, connected to Main Deco via PLC + Wireless (strong signal): the Main Network works fine but the Guest Network still shows no Internet connectivity
- Living Room Deco, connected to Main Deco via PLC + Wireless (strong signal): both Main Network and Guest Network work fine
So the following comment in my original post is no longer valid:

I tried what you suggested, I swapped the location of "Living Room" and "Cabin" Deco units, but the result didn't change: still can't connect to the Guest network while in the cabin and connected to the Deco called "Living Room".
In all the screenshots in this post, where you see "Living Room", it is actually the Deco unit that was in the living room of the house but placed in the cabin (I did not rename the Deco for this test). Also I did not place nor reconnect the Deco called "Cabin" in the living room of the house for this test, since the Deco in the cabin connected to the Main Deco called "Attic" anyway.
When I connect to the Guest network, this is what I see:
