Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest a feature for Tapo cameras (e.g., C200, C225, etc.):

It would be great to have a “Home View” or default position that the camera automatically returns to when not being manually controlled.

At the moment, as far as I can tell, the camera stays in the last manually selected position, which can be quite inconvenient — you often forget to move it back to the preferred viewing angle.

I’ve seen this feature implemented by another brand (Reo****), where you can save a “home” position and the camera automatically goes back to it.

Also, it seems that when selecting preset views on Tapo cameras, the camera sometimes still moves back to the last manually adjusted position, which feels inconsistent and makes it harder to use.

My suggestions:

  • Add an option to save a default “Home View” position
  • Optionally, make the camera return to this position automatically after manual control or a set period of inactivity

This would be a small but very useful improvement for everyday use.

Hi,
Usually, the camera returns to its default position after tracking when the motion tracking feature is enabled. If your camera moves to a position automatically, it's suggested to check whether the motion tracking feature is enabled and whether there are automation entries in the Tapo app that may cause the camera to pan & tilt to a specific position automatically.

Thank you very much for your feedback. For your feature request to add an option to save a default "Home View" position, I'll log it and forward it to the relevant team for evaluation.

Best Regards
