24/7 Capture Frames
24/7 Capture Frames
Hi @Wayne-TP,
As discussed from the previous thread, below are my questions.
- C460 - How can I view and download those snap shot frames. I can only Video from Playback & Download.
- C460 - I can't see the frame rate settings for the Video & Display settings.
- C460/C425 - Is it possible to trigger the Alarm manually? If so, how can I do that?
- C460/C425 - Video & Display settings - does the setting affects both 'Live View and the Recording'?
- C425 - Will the 24/7 Capture be available in the future firmware update?
Thank you.

Thanks, but still doubt.
According to the FAQ, the 24/7 Capture feature in the Tapo app is designed to enhance motion detection,
and any videos or photos recorded through this feature are not accessible to the user.

Since this model does not support a realtime continuos recording,
so that means the data of 24/7 capture feature from earlier periods has no value for retention. Therefore, your response is contradictory, as it means continuously accumulating data that has no meaningful use in any respect.
Of course for the short-term data storing would be required, but for old data --- it's really no meaning.
So that's why I asked.
fyi, I quoted before this reply as 365days capture because Tapo app set in Korean language, it shows 365Days Capture instead of 24/7 Capture. this is not a big matter.

The generated videos are accessible to the user, it is just that you cannot directly access the original snapshots that compose them. But it is possible if you want to view the video closely, you can use the playback speed control in the app. Setting it to 1/2x or even 1/4x will let you watch the content slowly and in detail.
The whole point of this feature is to capture as much as possible for users who don’t want to miss anything. That means a lot of what gets recorded will understandably be “non‑essential.” That’s the case for both 24/7 capture and continuous recording, in fact, continuous recording even takes up more storage with that type of content. If you require this level of coverage, this trade‑off is unavoidable.

@Wayne-TP Hello, I just realized that users can access the recorded video/pictures even by 24/7 capture feature. So all is clear now.
