Archer VR2800 failed to connect to Plus Net after firmware upgrade
I bought this modem router last week. I was able to connect to my ISP (Plus Net in UK) on ADSL2. I then upgraded to the latest firmware (ArcherVR2800(EU)_V1_200710) after which I was unable to connect. After downgrading to the original firmware I was able to connect again.
I am connecting using interface pppoa_0_38_0_d.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your time and patience,
Sorry for the delay.
We used to have several feedbacks about this issue and forward the case to our senior engineers and customers did not update the emails anymore, so we did not get so many details yet.
So if you are willing to help us run further tests, we would like to forward your case to the senior engineers already for further assistance.
And if anyone who had the same issue, please feel free to send an email to support@tp-link.com with the subject 【Forum ID 222070】failed to connect to the internet after firmware upgrade;
- What is the model number of your TP-Link device? How about the hardware and firmware version?
- What is the original firmware version?
- Where are you located and who is your internet service provider?
- What kind of connection type did you use, such as PPPoE over the VDSL connection?
Thanks a lot for your understanding and support.

Good Day,
Thank you very much for your patience.
We might need your help to check the following information:
- After the firmware update, please reset the modem and set it up again;
- If possible, during the setup, please choose Plusnet_MER_PPPoA from the ISP profile list;
If still no internet, please help us get the following information:
- A picture of the status page on the modem;
- The system log when there is no internet after set up on the new firmware;
Thank you~

I have the same issue with a VR900 that I've had for a couple of years. Tried a firmware upgrade from Archer VR900(EU)_V3_170303 to ArcherVR900(EU)_V3_200708 to resolve a couple of issues and then it will not connect to Plusnet. I've tried a factory reset etc on the new firmware but cannot get it to connect so I had to downgrade to an older version again.

@Sunshine, thanks for offer to look at this, but the reason I bought this router was because I'm upgrading to VDSL2, which has now been implemented so I can't check the original connection. In the next day or two I may try the firmware upgrade again to see if there are also problems with VDSL.

I can confirm the same problem connecting to plus.net.
Firmware version "Archer VR2800(EU)_V1_170809" works.
But version "ArcherVR2800(EU)_V1_200710" does not work. It negotiates a VDSL2 link, but the PPP session always fails to login.
I manually configure exactly the same VDSL and PPP settings with both firmware versions.
I also believe the latest firmware for model VR600-v2 (ArcherVR600(EU)_V2_200701) is broken with the same problem.
Thanks,
Chris.

Same problem but with Zen ISP. I never tried downgrading as the time was getting on but it's nice to know I can as it's an expensive doorstop otherwise. I ended up using an older modem/router I have until they sort this out ( I HOPE ).

Add me to the list of people unable to connect to PlusNet after upgrading the firmware of my Archer VR2800 to ArcherVR2800(EU)_V1_200710. Downgrading to the previous version of the firmware resolved the connection issue.

I queried the problem over 3-4 weeks and still nothing from TP-link, They have forgotten the VR2800 etc for the newer AX range. I shall think about which manufacturer gives true support for my next modem and does not submit a beta firmware to the public.
