Hi,

 

It seems Parental Controls is not working when the client uses a VPN.

I defined an empty white list for time after 21:00 for my kid's mobile.

It works for regular browsing, but when they use a VPN to watch videos, it does not work.

 

Access Control works for that case, but it does not have a time-range ability, so I need to turn it on and off manually.

Please fix this issue for Parental Control.

As far as I know, the Parental Control setting on the VR400 cannot block the VPN connection, but you can try to enable the DoS Protection under Advanced>>Security page, then check again if your kids can connect to the VPN.

 

If this doesn't block the VPN either, I'm afraid you can only use ACL to block it.

In that case that the parental control method is less effective than access control,

is it possible to add time setting to access control, just like it's done for parental control?

Hi, Thanks for your feedback.

Currently, there is no plan to add a time schedule to the access control yet.

And I would be glad to report this feedback to the senior engineers for further evaluation.
