Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: V1_1.1.3_201228

My Deco P9 network setup:

With the suggested modifications for setup with switch in backhaul:

Fixed IP adres for switch.

VLAN guest SSID tagged to ports where P9's are connected.

DNS on 1st Deco: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Sonos connects to 1st P9 (router).

Skype/Teams clients (Windows notebooks) connect to 1st and 3rd P9.

The very low quality of Skype and Teams conversations, constant dropping of the Sonos stream made me decide to place the old router/wifi back. After that, everything functions well however the range is limited (reason for purchasing the P9 with both ethernet and PLC backhaul).

Please give any suggestions to solve this problem.

@Lexivienna

Hi,

Would keeping the old router and switching Deco P9 to the access point mode currently fix this issue

If possible, could you please turn off the 2nd and 3rd deco temporarily and only keep the main Deco, and check whether the issue is still here?

Please also turn off the fast roaming, beamforming on the Deco APP, and the Mesh technology for Sonos on the APP;

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

@TP-Link

I think you mean JohnP9;)

for me I have 5 P7s

A fritzbox 7530 connected to the main Deco.

the main deco is connected to my main switch TP-SG2424 V2. 3 Decos are via LAN direct connected to the main switch.

Does the SG2424 support IEEE 1905.1?

anything I need to configure?
