Tapo P100 Timed Auto-Off Function - fw ver 1.4.5
Hi,
I have a TP-Link Kasa plug and I'm wondering if the same functionality is coming to the Tapo P100, or whether it's there and I'm missing something?
I have a Smart Action set up in Kasa to turn the plug off after 30 minutes, it doesn't matter what I use to turn the plug on 30 minutes later it's off, which is perfect.
Is there a way of doing this in the Tapo app with the P100, if not, is it planned?
Many Thanks.

Hello everyone,
Thank you for sharing feedback on the Auto-Off Timer feature, please check if the following suggestions suit your needs.
1. Some of the Tapo plugs have supported the Auto-Off Timer feature, and you can go to the plug's Device Settings>Auto-Off Timer page to enable this feature and set Auto-Off the plug after a specific time.
2. For the Tapo plugs that do not support the Auto-Off Timer feature now, you can go to the Tapo app>Smart tab to add an Automation entry to turn off the plug after a specific time once it's turned on.
How to create Smart Action (automation or a shortcut) of my Tapo devices?
For example, to turn off a Tapo plug 30 minutes later once it turns on, you can set the Trigger to turn on the Tapo plug, set the Action to turn off the Tapo plug, set the Delay Action to 30 minutes, and the Effective Time is always.
If you have other requirements, please feel free to leave your comment in this thread and share the detailed scenarios to help us understand how this feature can be helpful to you, this will help with the evaluation, thank you!
Best Regards

Hi! I'm looking for the same feature!
In my case I want to use the button on the device to turn it ON. It should then start a timer (preferably defined in the app) and turn OFF when at zero.
I could off course use the app to set the timer, but then I need my phone open the app, set the timer..... using the button in this case is so much simpler!
Hope you can create this feature!
Thanks!
Ole

Noting your suggestion, we've discussed this feature and plan to update the firmware in a few months.

Any update on this? This is on the Kasa plug but I'd like to see it available for Tapo too.

I also want this. I just bought a Tapo and specifically want this capability. Obviously bought the wrong product :(

I recently "upgraded" my smart plugs from "smarthings" and "ewelink" devices after enjoying the features of Tapo cameras (I have 8 c100/c200).
Incredibly disappointed that this is not a feature in the app or firmware. For devices such as my coffee machine I like it to turn off after 30 minutes (if not turned off sooner) since it is something I often forget costing quite a lot of electricity if I'm out all day!
This is a built in feature on virtually all the unbranded and cheap imported no-name plugs, its shocking that this is not already a feature, but please, please implement this.

I've just bouth a Tapo P100 to use it with my coffee machine and turn it off automatically after a certain time.
It's unbelievable there is no such function!
I have to send it back... :-(

@Choo Hi!
As of 2022-07-30 it is still not possible to configure the Tapo 100, nor Tapo 110 to automatically turn off after a set timer. You can use a "Shorcut" for that, but won't work if you manually press the button.
The easiest way would be to allow the plugs to be "Trigger Devices" for the Automation section in the app. That would solve everything.
I'll be waiting for the update.

Sadly the Auto-Off Function of the KASA Smart Plugs is not available for the Tapo Smart Plugs. We tried to exchange the Tapo Plugs for KASA Plugs but it seems that the KASA Plugs are EOL. This is a very critical feature for us and the Tapo Smart Plugs are useless for without it.
We found a limited workaround for this with the integration of the IFTTT App. With it you can create Applets that are switching the Tapo Smart Plug off after a configurable delay. The App is free for 5 devices.
