  @PJH

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

I noticed your model number was Deco XE75. The top port is likely broken.

You can refer to this link to submit the warranty request:

Best regards.

Satellite Deco is Pulsating RED
2024-10-05 08:28:58

@TP-Link My satellite Deco is Pulsating Red Constantly.

I tried changing the position, factory reset, even swapped with main deco - but still no change. LED continues to be in Pulsating RED status.

Please can someone assist, how to resolve the issue

  @TP-Link

Hi,

When i switch it on my x60 it has a constant yellow but after a couple of minutes it turns constant red.

I have been able to connect via RJ45 and make a firmware reset and it says that it is successful but it does not help, i get the same problem.

And im not able to access it´s setup in any way, not with app or RJ45.

I just installed a BE95 system, two units.  And wound up with the Solid Red Light on both units.

My system,

Cable modem

opnsense firewall

24 port network switch.

Modem to Firewall,

Firewall To switch,

Switch To various Computers, Servers, with one port to the BE95.

Firewall Provides all DHCP, Mac to ip reservations using KEA under opnsense.

My original system had Asus BD5 routers (3) in AP mode for a year.

And all was well, except for their backhaul. That's why the upgrade to the BE95

Followed Deco setup using Deco App.

Only change Under More, Advanced, Smart DHCP set to disabled.

AND

Wireless Mode set to Optimal Performance because second BE95 needed to be used for Back hall of wired VOIP phone system server

After reboots and plugging in Second BE95 a WiFi Network was created.

Deco app connected to the new network IP, could see the internet.

Under More, advanced, Test internet speed, and  all was well with close to the 1 gig performance that the cable modem could provide.

Then I switched the Deco BE95 to AP mode, reboot, BOOM SOLID RED LIGHT on both BE95's.

The internet still works with anything that would attach to the BE95

The Deco AP. Could not longer run speed test, update the NTP clock, or check for firmware updates with out error.

But yet all systems and services, even IoT, that normally worked were fine.

Tried all the rain dances, multiple reboots, new cables, different ports, one BE95, two BE95's, making other unit main, NOTHING CHANGED.

The only thing that consistently worked was the BE95 in Router mode.

People said get rid of your 24 port switch, we did as an experiment swap in a 24 port non managed switch, and a 16 port for troubleshooting, with no difference.

People said get rid of your firewall and let the BE95 do it all.

Well there is NO Visibility into what the hell is turning on the light, much less being able to SSH into it to see what is happening.

Logs ? What Logs.

The Fix ?  For me The Firewall........

Under opnsense 25.7.4 there is an issue using KEA DHCP, with DHCP leases not being cleared from the reservation table.

There currently isn't a clean way for an admin to pull them out and clean it up.

So wondering, with all this thrashing, what must the ARP table look like?

Under opnsense, Interfaces, Diagnostics, ARP Table, there were multiple entries, for TPLink Mac and IP addresses.
Hit Flush and got the following message "Flush the ARP cache manually, in case your ARP cache contains invalid data."

And the Red Light turned Green.

Rebooted the BE95, And it stayed Green.

Now through the Deco App, Speed test, NTP system time, and latest Firmware Tests work fine.

Firmware was the latest and didn't update. Hardware is version 1.6.

Second BE95 with backhall is working and now I'm going to leave well enough alone.
