Archer C5400 throttles local traffic to 10Mbps !! (and I already checked QoS settings)
When I purchased it in Februrary 2019, my Archer C5400 worked OK
Then I started having issues which I did not understand, until I read here that the new "QoS" (should be called PoS) feature was turned on by default and throttling my internet speed.
I thought there were problems with new macOS versions because the wifi speed of my MBP depended on the version of macOS I ran.
I now have QoS (which I cannot turn off on the C5400) set to standard, max 999.9Mbps for both upload and download (max possible), and no device with priority.
Internet speed seems OK now.
But local speed is throttled, which is absolutely ridiculous.
I cannot even play a 30Mbps video from my NAS on my MacBook Pro over NFS (in Infuse) !!! (SMB copy in Finder works OK).
... until I factory restore my C5400 and th restore latest settings.
It then works for a while.
I bothered Infuse developers because I could not imagine that my 300€ router could arbitrarily throttle local traffic to under 30Mbps out of 1Gbps!!!
It stopped working yesterday night, probably because there was a macOS update (12.1) just released.
This is unacceptable.
I bought a working router and a software update with new "features" and subscriptions for additional features ruined it.
Please tell me how to disable QoS on this router. Or another solution to not have any throttling of my local and internet traffic.
I am OK to use a 2 year-old firmware if that is the only way to have a working router although that is a security nightmare.
I believe this is not compatible with European or French customer protection laws.
I do not have time to fight this but I would really prefer a reasonable solution.
Or just refund me of the purchase of this router.
I am now going to spend some time factory resetting my router instead of doing my job.
Thanks Tp-Link for that.
