Model: Archer T3U
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1

I tried every tips you posted (https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/217836) but I still can't connect to 5Ghz.

1. At first I couldn't even see the 5GHz version, I switch from canal 100 (auto) to canal 38 then I could see the 5GHz version appear in the list of Wifi.

2. When switch on, I can only see the 5GHz version (2.4Ghz removed).

3. It doesn't seem to do anything.

4. It only works fine in 2.4GHz and only 1 or 2 sec in 5GHz.

5. My phone (Oneplus 9) works fine on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

6. It is set this way by default.

I tested 5Ghz with both drivers (the one from 3. and the one from this website https://www.tp-link.com/fr/support/download/archer-t3u/) and it crashes the same way, few second after a connexion to 5GHz.

Help !

  @Roman__

It's good to know you have tried tips like changing 5Ghz Wi-Fi Channel and Bandwidth settings on thread here

For further investigation, can  I know the model of Wi-Fi router, if possible, please attach a photo of 5Ghz wireless settings.

Please share photo of the error message when failed to use 5Ghz

If the network adapter is able to see 5Ghz Wifi but fails to connect to 5Ghz Wi-Fi, here are some other tips to try:

  • Confirm you have put in correct 5Ghz Wi-Fi password
  • Try a different USB 3.0 or 2.0 port
  • Set wireless security to WPA/WPA2-AES

For a test, you could use a different 5Ghz Wi-Fi password or create a 5Ghz Guest Wifi network without any password and see if the adapter could connect to it or not.

  • If the adapter has connected to 5Ghz wifi before, delete the Wifi profile and manually put in wifi password to reconnect to Wifi

How to connect to wireless networks and remove its profile on Windows 10

Btw, when did you purchase this adapter, has the adapter worked with 5G of router before? Thanks in advance for helping confirm details.

  @Solla-topee

Thanks for your fast answer,

I can't show you any error message, the product crashes (it deconnects from the pc) and tries to reconnect to the same wifi and then crashes again, it is hard to have the right timing to forget the 5GHz wifi before it tries connecting again.

I can confirm it is the right password (I tested on my phone) (My pc can sometimes connect few sec to the 5GHz wifi before crashing)

The wireless security option is by default WPA2 and there is no other option.

Here are my wifi settings :

I bought it on 02/09/2022.

  @Roman__

Thanks a lot for more case details, may I know the model of the Wi-Fi router or can you share a photo of the label on Wi-Fi router? Thanks!

You could also try a different USB 3.0 or 2.0 port and see if that makes any difference.

  @Solla-topee

I'm scared to share information I shouldn't share, so I'm not sending a photo for the moment. The model of the router is "Livebox 5" from the French operator "Orange", tell me if you need other information. I tried both 3.0 situated on the front of my pc and 3.1 situated on the back of my pc (motherboard).
