Model: TL-WPA4220 KIT
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 210305 Rel.64377n (6985)

I bought and setup a TL-WPA 4220 TKIT AV600 Powerline Kit (TL-WPA4220 x 2 and TL-PA4010 x 1)  yesterday. I set it up right next to the fibre router, and configured the extender next to the TL-PA4010 . My fibre speed is 100Mbps and when testing with a cable direct to the the router, the speed is pretty close to 100Mbps.

Using the tpPLS app, the data rate to the extender is 376Mbps

The WIFI speed test from the TL-WPA4220 extender is ok, and tests around; DOWNLOAD 49.61 Mbps,  UPLOAD 87.25Mbps

The speed seems to be very consistent and stable, which is good.

Why is the download speed so much slower?

I'd appreciate any advice - Thanks

I just connected a cable to the extender and tested:  DOWNLOAD 92.57 Mbps UPLOAD 92.47 Mbps - which is awesome

But why is the Wifi test so much slower to the cabled test?

When testing the Wifi, I'm sitting right against the extender

How can I improve the WIFI signal/connection?

Hello   @JohanK

It looks the WPA4220 has good Ethernet speed, not on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi

You could change a different Wi-Fi channel for the Wi-Fi of power line device by logging the web UI of the Wi-Fi powerline device

Try to lower the channel width to 2.4Ghz : 40Mhz,

More detailed steps, please check this troubleshooting FAQ - Case1
