Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello,

I purchased a couple of months ago on Amazon a TP-Link Tapo P100 (4-Pack) to use with some LED Panel lights. The app works perfectly, to turn them on and off, but noticed when turning the plug off the LED Panel still has some electric power, since the LED is very dimmed, but not at full power as when the plug is turned on.

I would like to know how to solve this, shouldn't the plug cut the energy completely? This happens in all 4 plugs I purchased.

All plugs are updated to the lastest firmware.

The panel Im using is the one in the picture below.

Thank you

Hi,
Generally, turning off the Tapo P100 is cut off the power to the connected device.
In this case, if you connect the LED Panel to an extension socket, and then turn on and off the extension socket, will the LED Panel has the same behavior?
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thank you for your reply and sorry for only getting back to you now. I performed the test you said and it works fine, when I turn the extension socket off everything shuts down, but via the TP-Link Tapo Smart Plug there is still some energy going through. How could we solve this? The smart plugs are updated to the latest firmware.

Thank you,

Manuel

Hi,
You can try to turn by 180 degrees of the P100 but the LED power adapter does not change the direction, and then check if it will fix the problem.
Best Regards
