Note:
1. Please make sure your Deco APP is up-to-date.
2. Please be aware that specific features may vary between hardware versions.
3. Some features are not supported under Access Point Mode.
4. If there are other Deco models in the Mesh network, some features would no longer show up, such as Signal Source and Connection Preference; while others only need the support on the main Deco, like VPN, Static Route, MTU, and smart DHCP.
5. As a reminder, the Technical support team does not have any information regarding what models the firmware is being developed for and when we could potentially see a particular release. Please refrain from asking "When Will 'X' Model Receive the Feature?"
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why can't I detect the above firmware on the Deco APP?
In the first stage of firmware release, the new firmware would be pushed to a part of users first, then gradually within the next few weeks, if everything goes on well, it will be pushed to all users. During this gap, it is normal if you can not detect the latest firmware. It is suggested to wait for a while or manually update the firmware via web UI per Update the Firmware of Deco.
2. If I have V1.6, which firmware should I use?
Common rules for firmware upgrade: Normally Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8); Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28).
x.6 and x.8 are mainly used to distinguish the place of production.
3. How to downgrade the firmware if I run into any issues?
The newly released firmware feedback is always important and it would be highly appreciated if your could share here what happened to Deco after updating the firmware. We would reply to the post at the earliest time.
In case you have to downgrade the firmware immediately, the cross-platform firmware downgrade, like from 1.2.0 to 1.1.0 needs to be performed via firmware recovery. But if you just want to downgrade from 1.2.6 to 1.2.5 or 1.2.2, it could be done via web UI directly.

My sincere thanks for finally formally releasing version 1.5.8 for my M4 V2. A completely useless adjustment to the existing functionality, as was the case with firmware update 1.5.6.
It would be to your credit as TP-Link and it would also be high time that you as TP-Link take responsibility and fulfill your obligation to your customers to bring the M4 V2 up to the level of the M4 V4 (Deco 1.6.0 /1.7.0/1.1.0/1.2.0 Firmware Update).
As well as communicating with them about this in a professional manner as befits a software manufacturer and providing them with clear information about this.

@JaapHoutman I think they won't release a new firmware with 1.6 full functions as V4. They want us tò buy new models or V2 hardware won't support some of the new functions. Too much time has passed...

@David-TP
Is there any way to select a manual signal source on Deco E4?
I have an XE75 Pro as a main unit and 2 Deco E4 as satellite units.
The E4's always connect to the main unit, I want them to connect trough each other.
The XE75 Pro has manual signal selection but the E4's doesn't seem to have it.
My bedroom is farther away than my hallway, I don't need blazing-fast speeds there, however, I do need it to be stable and it sometimes drops out because it's always connecting to my main unit and not the other satellite that's closer.

@PreyK Which hardware version are you using of the M4 and of the XE75 Pro? Thanks.

Edit: looks like I mistyped it, I have two E4's not M4.
The XE75 Pro is V2 (EU) and both the E4's are V2 (EU) as well.

@PreyK The function you are looking for is as far as I understand only supported by V4 of M4:

@JaapHoutman Thanks! That's unfortunate. But Finally managed to make it work trough some jank.
1. Wrapped my main unit in aluminium-foil so signal strength drops and there's no way it reaches my bedroom unit from the living room.
2. Removed my bedroom unit from the mesh.
3. Moved my bedroom unit to the furhest possible point of my bedroom.
4. Added my bedroom unit as a new device.
5. It connected to my hallway unit!
6. Removed the aluminium-foil.
I wish there was an easier way to do that but oh well... I guess physics works too.

@PreyK Genius! A simpler solution would have been for TP-Link to fulfill its obligations to its M4 V2 customers and ported the functionality of the M4 V4 to
the M4 V2.

@Fabio25 Tp-link's product support is really weird...they're giving continuous updates & new features to 6-year old devices (M5), but ignoring 4-year old devices (M4 V2).
Also, the V4 of M4 still isn't available in most countries...V2s are still popular.

TP-Link recently announced the X10. Which seems to me to be a worthy successor to the M4. What I miss on the product page of the X10 is a document that describes a clear and complete overview of the functionality that the X10 offers. In my opinion, the same shortcoming also occurs with other models, such as the X20, X50, X60, etc., etc.
What's your opinion on the upcoming X10, also held up against the X20 and X50?
Thanks.
