Note:
1. Please make sure your Deco APP is up-to-date.
2. Please be aware that specific features may vary between hardware versions.
3. Some features are not supported under Access Point Mode.
4. If there are other Deco models in the Mesh network, some features would no longer show up, such as Signal Source and Connection Preference; while others only need the support on the main Deco, like VPN, Static Route, MTU, and smart DHCP.
5. As a reminder, the Technical support team does not have any information regarding what models the firmware is being developed for and when we could potentially see a particular release. Please refrain from asking "When Will 'X' Model Receive the Feature?"
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why can't I detect the above firmware on the Deco APP?
In the first stage of firmware release, the new firmware would be pushed to a part of users first, then gradually within the next few weeks, if everything goes on well, it will be pushed to all users. During this gap, it is normal if you can not detect the latest firmware. It is suggested to wait for a while or manually update the firmware via web UI per Update the Firmware of Deco.
2. If I have V1.6, which firmware should I use?
Common rules for firmware upgrade: Normally Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8); Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28).
x.6 and x.8 are mainly used to distinguish the place of production.
3. How to downgrade the firmware if I run into any issues?
The newly released firmware feedback is always important and it would be highly appreciated if your could share here what happened to Deco after updating the firmware. We would reply to the post at the earliest time.
In case you have to downgrade the firmware immediately, the cross-platform firmware downgrade, like from 1.2.0 to 1.1.0 needs to be performed via firmware recovery. But if you just want to downgrade from 1.2.6 to 1.2.5 or 1.2.2, it could be done via web UI directly.

Hi, Deco X10 is an entry-level Wi-Fi 6 Deco Mesh system. Its factory firmware has added the features that are supported on the Deco 1.6.0 firmware platform, such as signal source selection/connection preference, reboot schedule, NO-IP/DynDNS, etc.
later there will be a rough introduction of the supported software features on different Deco firmware platforms so that users can get a better understanding of the different firmware versions.
Best regards.

Thanks for the feedback. I therefore assume that the X10 will be an excellent device for those who currently have an M4 that is more than sufficient for their . Any idea when the X10 will be available on the Dutch market? Thanks.

Hi, It would be better to check the order date from the local online stores, like TP-link Official Store on Amazon. They might have more details.
Best regards.

@JaapHoutman That's basically looks like an "M4 Pro Max" to me, with all the 1.6.0 features & wifi 6.
In our household we don't change routers on a whim, so next time I'll be looking to buy the XE75 pro (or the X50/X55 at least)

@JaapHoutman It is really incredible that they released 1.6 for M4 V4 and not for previous hardware revision "V2". M4 V2 is still sold and You can get it randomly.
Exactly! So I bought M4 and its V2. I also bought XE75. So now I have 3 x XE75 and 3x M4 V2. And they are all connected in the same mesh. Now when I start them up, Connection Preference is available, since XE75 is the main deco. Even I can select M4 V2 in connection preference. Then after 3-5minutes Connection Preference disappear from all devices. A work, many still have M4 V2. For now, I suggested them not to buy newer ones because they would not be able to use connection preference then. I also would like to see 1.6.x on M4 V2, I am almost sure Tplink will add it because on older M5's it was added. Logically, I want to buy new devices and place them into current locations, whereas be using older devices to fill in the less used places around the house. I vote for M4 V2 to be updated sooner. @David-TP if you have got any influence on the jira tickets/cards, dont hesistate to put a comment or change priority since many of us here are waiting connection preference feature on the M4 V2..

The interesting thing here is that this is contrary to legislation in the Netherlands. An equipment manufacturer such as TP-Link is obliged to provide its products with meaningful updates on a regular basis every year.
