So managed to update successfully! When I first installed this on my m4 v2. The new update in AP mode bricked all of my decos. I was thinking if I set the decos up in router mode not AP mode then try the update again. I did this and all 3 decos are now updated and working fine. The signal source and the satellite selection is a god send for me! Works a treat now. Thank you. If anyone has it in AP mode your best option is put it in router mode.

This is great to know the beta firmware does work for in some scenarios. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much. I checked all the previous feedback. The funny thing I noticed most of the unstable network feedback happened when Ethernet Backhaul was involved. It might be a useful clue.
I would like to follow up on your case via email and please check whether you could receive my email later.
Thanks again and best regards.

@David-TP I also had the same instability with red lights etc but i dont have ethernet connections.
In my case, I switched to Router Mode and all seem to work well.
My only observation is that the app now takes way longer to start measuring and displaying the transfer rates of clients.
Other than that, things seem fine.

@theoapo yeh it seems to update just fine in router mode. AP mode it gets the red light. Also try clearing cache on the app and data and log back in should be abit faster.

Another thing to note is, I updated using Wi-Fi, since there was no possibility for me to update over ethernet.
Switching to Router mode does help, and decos are more stable.

Just to contribute to feedback. I have 4 M4 decos, Main deco in router mode connected to a bridged ISP router, 2 satellites on ethernet backhaul through a TL-SG108E switch, and 1satellite on a wireless connection to one of the above satellites. So far everything works fine for a few days now and the connection preference is a game changer for multiple floor setups like mine. The network seams very stable, some of my IoT devices that used to roam to different decos giving me issues now have a stable connection to the preference one.
The only difference I see is in the deco app like someone already said above. Its slow to update, feels kinda laggy. Sometimes all clients show up connected to the main router, then after a minute or two everything updates to show their true connection.
Once you polish the firmware, it will be perfect! The long wait was worth it.

Hi, Welcome to the community.
I think it still needs a while. I just summarized the feedback report about the 1.7.0 beta and submitted it to the engineers.
They might view the feedback first before making decisions. Hope it could be official very soon.
You could subscribe to this post first and if there is any update, I will update it as soon as possible.
Best regards.

@David-TP thanks very much for your reply.
could you also add the functionality to disable fast roaming for separate networks. Ie disable fast roaming for guest network or Iot network only. I have a Neato vacuum robot won't connect to Wi-Fi when fast roaming is enabled. Having the option to disable fast roaming for guest networks will be good.
