VPN feature for Deco X50-5G
VPN feature for Deco X50-5G

Apologies for the pointing the thread directly to you but I wanted to know if there might be a pre-release firmware for the X50-5G that supports VPN.
I saw from a thread with angryminion here last June that you mentioned that support may be coming. I know it might be silly to ask but do you guys have an ETA?

@-Diego, you can update the software manually by downloading it from the website:

Hi, welcome to the community.
It might not be good news and there hasn't been a pre-release firmware that supports the VPN client/server on the Deco X50-5G.
As for the ETA, I haven't got any upgraded news either.
Sorry for the inconvenience and best regards.

@David-TP Thanks for the information. Apologies for the rather late response.
The question was posted as I noticed that the VPN for regular Deco X50/X55 was made available a while ago and thought this was an update that might be coming soon.
Thank you for the clear information.

I'm not sure you'll get a response or update for that matter. I compared very many routers from TP-Link that actually support VPN, it seems like the X50-5G might not have the physical specification to support it.
I could be wrong, but just didn't want your hopes up. I have moved to another model since.

@David-TP are there any new updates on the release date of firmware to get VPN in the X50-5G ? I just purchased this few months back, and is not a truly option to upgrade at the moment, also I use client VPN at the end points, but at the router would be a much better solution... and is available in similar models, any way that can e added to the firmware update pipeline?
Kind regards,
Diego

I agree that adding a VPN feature to the Deco X50-5G would be highly beneficial, especially given how important secure connections have become.

@David-TP This would be really welcomed feature that I would implement immediately.
Why would the Deco X50 support it but not the 5G version? Is there are hardware constraint?

Dear all, I have since moved on to the Archer BE800
I do hope that VPN support will be made available but I am afraid that there might be some hardware constraints on the X50-5G. (please see recommended solution)
