My MERCUSYS AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router MR50G is randomly restarting since last few days 


As there is no specifc community for Mercusys routers, i am reporting this issue here 

The issue looks same as the TP Link Archer C80 

Few things that i have tried 

  • Factory rested router 
  • Disabled Easy Mesh 
  • Auto Reboot is turned OFF  
  • I am on latest firmware

Just downgraded the firmware, and it appears the problem is resolved as I haven't seen any errors in the log file so far.

I've contacted Mercusys Support both via email and by phone
 

Unfortunately, I haven't received any response via email, and the support agent I reached by phone suggested a hard reset of the router, but the issue persists.
 

I have a question. Since there's no new firmware available, should I try downgrading to the older version? My current firmware version is 1.11.4 (EU), and the most recent one available on the Mercusys website is 1.11.3(EU). Would downgrading cause any problems? 

If downgrading the firmware is not recommended, What could i do next?

Was the router working properly before you upgraded to the latest 1.11.4 version? If yes, you may try to downgrade to the previous version, which is 1.11.3, then check again if it will run properly.

I don't have specific information about version 1.11.3, as I upgraded my router to 1.11.4 during the first-time setup. Therefore, I can only assume that 1.11.3 was a stable version, as mercusys hasn't provided the new version on their wesbite. 

So I'm gonna try downgrading. But if that doesn't work, what else can I do? also does downgrading firmware can void warranty

This is what I can find on their global website, where there is a 1.11.4 version:

However, on the Indian local website, it seems the 1.11.4 version is missing:

https://www.mercusys.co.in/download/mr50g#Firmware

 

As you can check from the two sites, both are EU versions, so I guess you can downgrade to the previous 1.11.3 version.

 

For the support email contact info, do you mean there is no response or you cannot submit your help request? In either case, you may call them or try to email support.in@mercusys.com directly.

Thank you for your assistance. I haven't received a reply from support.in@mercusys.com (sent on February 19th and 21st). I've also contacted Mercusys via call, but they only suggested hard resetting the router and trying a different power adapter.
 

Today, I tried contacting them again through https://www.mercusys.com/en/support/contact-technical-support/#email-support. I'll wait a few hours for a response. If I don't hear back, I'll consider downgrading the firmware.
 

The router is under warranty, but there's no store nearby and I rely on the Wi-Fi for work, so returning it by courier isn't feasible. Therefore, I'm seeking assistance from a service engineer who can diagnose the issue or help me upgrade the firmware (similar to how upgrading firmware fixed this problem in some Tp Link Routers).

If unfortunately, support doesn't reply to you, you can try to downgrade the firmware to the previous version and monitor if it will work properly.

Update: I have received reply from the Mercusys Global Team (support@mercusys.com) and They have provided me with beta firmware for the router, which should solve the problem of router restarting.
