There are multiple ways that a hacker can start DDoS Attacks so far there hasn't been a straightforward solution to stop them all.

Still, there are a few defensive measures to prevent your Deco from becoming compromised and attacked by a risky botnet.  

1. Make sure your Deco firmware is up-to-date.

2. Disable the UPNP and remove the unnecessary port forwarding rules under Deco APP>More>Advanced>NAT Forwarding.

3. Enable the VPN client under Deco APP>More>Advanced>VPN to hide the genuine WAN IP address.

4. Move the high-risk IOT devices under Device Isolation.

5. Subscribe to Security + under HomeShield to prevent extra Cyber Virus Intrusion and IoT Device Attacks.
