D235 full SD card will error playback and further recording

Hello, I've encountered the problem with the D235
Whenever the SD card is full, further recording does not activate. There are no notifications for activity from the camera, and clips that were previously recorded are unable to be played back. Even the live preview feature often doesn't want to display what the camera is seeing.
I've set the device up to be powered.
Recording schedule is 24/7 on activity detected.
Sd card has been inserted into the device and not in a paired hub.
SD card has been set to loop recording.
If I format the SD card, all buggy features will return to working normally. It's only when it fills back up again that I encounter these issues.
