Before the Upgrade
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the pre-release firmware!
(2) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.
(3) You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.
(4) This pre-release firmware for Archer BE800 V1 can be applied to all versions (EU/US/CA/AU/SG/etc.).
(5) To use the new 3-band MLO connection, both the router and client device must support Wi-Fi 7 and 3-band MLO. Please note that most Wi-Fi 7 smartphones and network adapters may only support 2.4GHz + 5GHz or 2.4GHz + 6GHz when connecting to the MLO Network.

After updating - none of my devices will connect to 5gh. I have 2.4/5 in smart mode. After upgrade no devices will connect to 5ghz. Have completely turned off MLO and 6ghz. Have also changed to remove "be" from mode on both 2.4 and 5.
2.4ghz
802.11 b/g/n/ax mixed
20/40 mhz
channel at auto
MU-MIMO off
5ghz
802.11 a/n/ac/ax mixed
20/40/80/160
channel auto
MU-MIMO off
Have tried various settings - no devices will connect to 5ghz even though they did previously.
I should note also - I have an enabled 2.4 IoT network.
Further edit - turn off smart connect and the 5ghz SSID doesn't even show as an option to any of my devices.
Looks like this firmware completely broke my 5ghz wifi.
Will be going back - will find another brand.
If I removed 2.4 from smart connect so the primary network is only 5ghz - NOTHING STILL CONNECTS. I'm one day away from my return with Amazon - not particularly impressed with this router at this point.
Last edit - I've turned off smart connect and renamed all SSIDs independently. The only ssid broadcast and visible from multiple clients is the 2.4 one. After a factory reset and using all default settings (other than turning off smart connect) there is no change. Only 2.4 band is broadcast/visible.
So for me at least after this update - I now have very expensive 2.4 ghz router.
@Dr_pepper Even after resetting to factory defaults, the 5G SSID is no longer broadcasting now after the firmware update?
Could you please confirm how you upgraded the firmware? Was there a power outage during the upgrade?
Are you still able to modify the 5G wireless settings on the BE800? If yes, please try modifying the wireless channel to a fixed one, then check again if you can see it on any device.
If everything was done correctly but the 5G still isn't broadcasting, I recommend contacting the reseller or local support for a replacement under the warranty policy. I'm here to help if you encounter any difficulties during that process.

@Kevin_Z Tado internet bridge is connected to ethernet port 4 but as you can see from the attached picture the port registers nothing. I have moved Tado to a Xyzel 10gb switch so it is not a crisis but it would be nice if the error is fixed
@bjomol Understood. Please don't worry, our development team is working on a beta firmware, and I will share it with you as soon as it's ready.

@Dr_pepper Change the channel width on 5Ghz to 20/40/80. Don't use 160 mhz since it overlaps with DFS channels. DFS channels share weather and airplane radar bandwidth so it shuts 5Ghz off if it detects radar being used. If you live in a flight path, the problem might be more major. The factory default is 20/40/80/160 so that's probably why a reset didn't fix your problem.

@Kevin_Z Only issue that I've found is that the app and website present an error if trying to modify the LED on the router. Not an issue for me, but it maybe for others.

@TheSassyBear Thank you for your feedback.
Could you please provide an error screenshot when you try to modify the LED Control settings either via the Tether App or Web UI?
Is this issue reproducible or does it occur occasionally?

@Kevin_Z I think I know why I was loosing connection on my S25 Ultra. After getting the "connected without internet" error I tried connecting to 6G and 2.4 and they both got stuck on "obtaining IP address" I turned DoH off in the router setting and the issue was resolved. I think there's some kind of incompatibility between the S25 and DoH functionality because other devices on my network worked fine. Andriod phones have a function called "private DNS" which allows you to input a DoH address. I had mine set to automatic at the time.

I see the US version Firmware 1.2.1 is officially launched/downloadable on the support page (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/archer-be800/v1/#Firmware) since today, will the EU version also be released today? (Or can EU users use the Firmware of the US support page to download?)

@qazwsxedc16 Thank you very much for the update and I'm glad to hear that the Samsung S25 Ultra works fine with the BE800 now.
I will report this issue to the team and ask them to check if there is any incompatibility between the S25 Ultra and DoH on the BE800.
