  @Kevin_Z

Archer BE800—especially with the new features packed into this firmware.

If you're thinking about upgrading, the boost in wireless driver performance and the addition of 3-band MLO for Wi-Fi 7 is pretty exciting. Just keep in mind that both your router and client device need to support full tri-band MLO to actually benefit from it. Most current Wi-Fi 7 devices still only handle two bands.

The EasyMesh updates are great too, especially the support in AP mode. Now you can build a mesh setup without needing the BE800 as the main router, which gives way more flexibility. The addition of a WebUI for satellite devices is super helpful too—basic controls without jumping through hoops.

Also loved seeing DoH and DoT support being added. Privacy-focused features like those are something I always look for, and it’s nice to see them becoming standard on high-end hardware.

Just one heads-up though: once you upgrade to this 1.2.x firmware, there’s no going back to 1.1.x. So definitely back up your config file before updating.

Let me know if you’re thinking of making the switch. I’d love to hear how it performs in your setup!

Is there any particular reason why it's locked?

  @Kevin_Z

hey, any update to this? Been having the same issue since updating, I've noticed it happens more often when more devices are connected to it. For me with usually only around 29 devices online it disconnects or just goes extremely slow while browsing I've noticed it happens maybe every couple hours? Had family over recently and with more than 40 devices connected it seems to happen as often as every 15-30 minutes?

Keen on just waiting for the next 1.2 update but if no eta any time soon, would appreciate if I can get the file to revert back to 1.1.6 please :)

  @BE800user There was a new one released today 1.2.3 Build 20250314 rel.45415(5553). I don't see it on the public website yet, but my router downloaded it and I installed it.

  @Kevin_Z

Samsung S24 Ultra One Ui 7 (Android 15) installed:

5GHz + 6 GHz MLO works, but only 320 MHz 6 GHz is used.

As expected, 320 MHz is the limit of WiFi 7 anyway.

Also setting 6 GHz as 160 MHz bandwidth and 5 GHz as 160 MHz bandwidth, does not MLO 5 + 6 GHz to 320 MHz.

But only uses 160 MHz in 6 GHz. So MLO is rather useless as it is now. Or Samsung/Qualcomm useless, or TP-Link and others useless.

2.4 + 5 + 6, only MLO connects 2.4 GHz + 6 GHz as associated.

The phone reports 320 MHz, but uses 160 MHz 6 GHz and 40 MHz 2.4 GHz.

This is my last test for people to read. TP-Link i am sure can buy their own Samsung S24 and or S25 ultra and make them fix it for a better user experience.

My advice: Want 3.5 Gbps WiFi 7 download and upload?
Install a seperate AP in each room you want this. And get a proper WiFi 7 router/ap which can do 320 MHz bandwidth in the 6 GHz range.

TP-Link BE800 does this perfectly.

The official version 1.2.3 Build 20250314 is gradually rolling out, and users can check for updates on the BE800's web interface or through the Tether App and install the latest version. We strongly recommend upgrading to this version to improve the overall experience.

Release Notes for the new official 1.2.3 Build 20250314 version:

  • Fixed an issue where traffic usage data in the Tether App was missing after setting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi schedule.

  • Fixed a bug where 6GHz might not be seeing due to 6GHz beacon exhibit abnormal behavior.
