Model: Archer AX55 Pro
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20240426 rel.31941

This Article Applied to:

Archer AX55 Pro_V1.0_1.3.1 Build 20240426 rel.31941

Phenomenon Description:

Some users are experiencing issues with 2.5G Ethernet backhaul when using the Archer AX55 Pro v1 with other devices to set up an EasyMesh network.

Specifically, when you try to use the 2.5G port on the Archer AX55 Pro for Ethernet backhaul, the backhaul fails, and the devices are then connected to the Wi-Fi backhaul.

If you switch to another Ethernet port, such as the 1G port, you can successfully establish Ethernet backhaul.

Similar feedback is mentioned in this thread.

Workaround:

We recommend you try the following beta firmware to solve this problem.

Archer AX55 Pro_V1_1.3.1(beta)

Manually updating firmware can refer to How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers (New Logo)?

Note: Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.

If you need further help, please describe the issue with more details and post it here.

Thank you.

@Joseph-TP Hello, thanks for this beta firmware. Is there a way to upload the beta firmware to AX55 satellite devices, from the main router (also an AX55 in my case)? When going to the web interface of the satellite it says "Rejected request under RE mode."

 Hi @yellius,

Thank you for contacting our community.

May I confirm again what is the model of your router? The beta firmware on this post is for Archer AX55 Pro V1, not Archer AX55 V1.

If your model is Archer AX55 V1, it supports log in and manage the EasyMesh satellite router individually. Please update firmware to latest version firstly.

You can refer to this guide for instructions on how to log in:
1. Connect your device to the satellite router (wired or wirelessly).
2. Open a web browser and enter the satellite router's IP address in the address bar to access its web management page. To find the satellite router's IP address:
    a. Use the main router's web management interface: Go to Advanced > EasyMesh to locate the IP address.
    b. Use the Tether App: Log in to the main router, go to More > EasyMesh > Tap the Satellite router's icon to find its IP address.
3. Create a new login username and password for the satellite router and log in.
For a detailed guide on accessing the EasyMesh satellite router's web interface, refer to this FAQ: How to log in to the Web Interface of an EasyMesh Satellite Router
However, if you encounter the message "Rejected request under RE mode" when attempting to log in to the web interface of your EasyMesh satellite router, it means that your router does not currently support this functionality. Please keep an eye out for firmware updates that may enable this feature in the future.

@Joseph-TP thank you for the reply, I confirm I have 3x AX55 Pro units (and one AX10), with one of the AX55Pro's as the Easymesh master and rest as sattelites. Does that mean I cannot update the sattelites to fix this 2.5G backhaul issue?

  @ChristopherPi

Hi,

It has happened before on other router models that certain things which were in beta testing did not make it into the next release version of the firmware.

There is no mention of a fix for the 2.5G port issue in the notes for firmware version 1.4.3.

Hello @ChristopherPi ,

Welcome to our community.

Since the firmware update, no other similar feedback indicating that the 2.5G port cannot establish an EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.

Can you test whether the network using the 2.5G port is working using a separate wired PC?

If possible, please hard reset the router and reconfigure it.

Re:Archer AX55 Pro v1 Fail to Establish Ethernet Backhaul using the 2.5G port in an Easymesh Network
Wednesday

  @Joseph-TP Hi,

I have 2 Archer AX55 Pro v1.0, both updated to firmware 1.4.3. While he 2.5G port works just fine on the main the router it doesn't on the one configured as the easymesh satelite, i tried using it for both for ethernet backhaul and connecting a pc. While the routers web ui was showing the pc and even an ip adress assigned to it when connected to the 2.5G port the pc was not receiving said ip adress from a dhcp server and couldn't connect to the internet. When trying to use the port for ethernet backhaul the routers just fallback to wireless connection. I haven't tried resetting routers yet because i currently don't have time for reconfiguring the routers.

Hello @PinkSteven

Welcome to our community.

First of all, please confirm that both routers are up to date.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—AX55 Pro )))((( client devices

                           └───AX55 Pro

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Which port on the main router are you connecting to the satellite router's 2.5G port through?

Is there a switch between the two routers? If yes, please remove the switch for comparison.
