DECO M4 with Sky Max Hub
Hello
I have just set up a 3-unit DECO M4 system with my Sky Max Hub.
We have a wifi deadspot in one part of the house which unfortunately is where the study is!
Initially, I had the DECOS in mesh mode, but I got higher speeds when I used them in Access Point mode, so I stuck with that, as that was my preferred method anyway.
However, I now have a problem. As the SSIDs of the access points is the same as the Sky Max hub (because they don't actually have their own network name/are simply access points), devices can't be forced to connect to them. So, all my devices are still connecting directly to the Sky Max Hub, which is the wifi deadzone, is useless.
I went on to the Sky Hub Gateway (192.168.0.1) to see if I could disable the Sky Max Hub as an access point. The only option that is there is to turn turn off the two wireless networks (2.4GHz and 5GHz) so I did that, assuming that as the 'MAIN' Deco is connected by ethernet, they could pick up the wireless connection, and would funnell it back to the Sky Max Hub by ethernet.
This did not work - when I turned off 2.4GHz and 5GHz in the Sky Hub Gateway, it was as if the access points had no network to broadcast. The SSID disappeared from all my device's WiFi lists.
I have since restored the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks, but I am faced with the same problem - how do I force devices to connect to the DECOS as APs and not the Sky Max Hub as the only AP?
Many thanks.
