Deco Mesh consisting of 2x BE85 and 1x X50, forces all IoT clients only to the main Deco/router

I've bought about 8 months ago a 2x BE85 Deco + 1x X50 for my new place.
The idea is to have all my smart home/ alarm appliances on the separate IoT network.
While troubleshooting every now and then the issues that my nest hub max is having I realized that it's only been connecting to the main Deco BE85 device and not in the living room BE85 ap which is literally 2m from it.
Then I also realized that the smart home devices located in my garage also connect to the main Deco IoT network and not on the x50 which is also right outside.
As far as I can see, the DECO IoT network is completely useless as it won't accept clients on the access points, but only on the main router.
While searching I see old locked topics from 1-2 years ago with no answers.
Is there any plan to get this fixed?

Hi, welcome to the community.
Can I also have the firmware version of the Deco X50?
Please also add a picture of the network map and Mesh Backhaul types on the Deco APP, such as:
Apart from the Nest hub, can I have the model numbers of other smart home devices that can't connect to the IoT network from the nearest Deco?
Here is a beta firmware for Deco BE85_V1/V2 that has improved the overall roaming performance. It is suggested to install the 1.1.3 version here to see whether it helps:
Deco BE85_1.1.3 New firmware with Optimized System Stability and Network Performance

@David-TP hi and thanks for your reply!
The X-50 is running on 1.2.8 Build 20240914 Rel. 35513, which by the way every once in a few weeks it loses connectivity to the main BE85 (router) and I need to power it off/on to recover.
Its position is approx 3m away in a straight line from the main router (a big balcony glass door and a curtain are in between). But that's for another troubleshooting session I guess (unless you've got a different firmware for that one too :-) ).
As for my overall network setup, as I'm not at home I grabbed it just now from the app:
They are all 3 connected wirelessly while in a line of sight.
The one in the living room is at approx 10-12m away in a straight line (corridor/hallway) in my place.
The devices that have been doing this are in the living room AP (BE85):
Nest Hub Max
Nest Cam Indoor
Optima Clean Air CA-704 Smart dehumidifier
Nest Mini
Somfy Wireless Alarm hub
And the devices that do the same on occassion with the X-50 are:
Nest Cam Outdoor
Qlima D 720 Cube dehumidifier

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
"every once in a few weeks it loses connectivity to the main BE85 (router) and I need to power it off/on to recover."
-Would it turn flashing red? Or the LED is still solid green but Deco reported "offline"?
If it is the latter, there is a beta firmware for this issue. I'll share it later via email.
By the way, did it make any difference after Deco BE85 was installed on the 1.1.3 beta?
And could you please do me a favour to test whether you can set "connection preference" for these smart home devices under the IoT network?
(I saw some users mentioned this option is available under IoT network, while others didn't. I wonder whether it is model-related.)
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

@David-TP thanks for that and the extra firmware you've sent me directly.
I'll install both on Thursday once I'm back to my place; I had to take an urgent business trip and I'll be back later this week.
I'll keep you posted!

@David-TP circling back to this.
I just upgraded both BE85s that I have at home and the X50 with their respective BETA versions you shared / sent me.
I've got a question though, should I be worried that the X50 beta firmware you've sent me is an older one compared to the one that it was running on now? (1.2.7 vs 1.2.8 that my X50 had)

Hi, generally, you don't need to.
The beta firmware was usually made based on the latest firmware when the issue was reported. If it were considered critical and greatly influential, it would be added to the official release at once. So if it were just a minor adjustment, it might take several updates to finally introduce this bug fix.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

@David-TP hi! I've been testing it quite thoroughly since your recommendations for the different beta software solutions.
My observations so far: the X50 with the beta software stopped all disconnects. So it's been running smoothly.
Sadly my Nest Hub Max is still acting weird and disconnects frequently (I think even more frequently now but I'm not 100% sure) with the beta software on the BE85. :-(
I will need your guidance on how to capture full logs and upload those.
