Afternoon all,

just looking for some advice and guidence regarding getting better internet throughtout my property.

so currently with Sky for TV and broadband and due to my location we do not have fiber as yet and stuck with copper so our speeds arent the greatest roughly about 70mbs download speed.  But since moving to Sky the router that has been provided is pretty shocking.  Due to where the cables are positioned the router needs to sit behind a TV or in a cupboard which I know does effect the overall signal.  But at the moment the wifi signal struggles to reach up stairs in room that arent directly above the lounge and as soon as we go outside we loose signal.

So I've been looking at TP-Link equipment and just getting myself confused with powerline / extenders and mesh.  In a perfect world what l'd like to achieve is a good solid wifi signal around the house and in the garden (so we can conect to sonos speakers outdoors).  I would also like it so everything is on the same login details as I previously had a extender and found it frustrating when moving around the house stuff would switch from router to extender but nor always the one with teh stringest signal.

thank you for your help in advance.

Sanj

The simplest solution in your case would be a set of routers that support Easymesh in AP mode.

Disable Sky router wireless radio and use the Easymesh SSID of the TP-Link routers in AP mode.

It depends of the size of your premises how many routers you should get to setup the Easymesh,

Iy also depends which wireless standard you want (Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fii 6 or Wi-Fi 5) - here's the list of routers suporting this mode.

You can start with set of two devices and add more if necessary to cover the entire premises.

Hi@Swsh_1983,

Thank you for contacting our community.

From your needs, you want to cover Wi-Fi to outdoor garden, and you may also want to use powerline functions, and you want the entire network to be a Mesh network, right? If so, you can consider Deco Mesh system: Whole Home Wi-Fi

Here is the list of Deco units. Whole-Home Mesh Wi-Fi System

You can filter the devices that meet your needs in the menu on the left, or select 2-3 models for comparison.
