How can I configure the Tapo C220 only locally ?
I don't want my camera to be connect to the cloud. It will be connected to a router that doesn't have internet access, with a Home Assistant server on the network. Is this possible ? If so, how ?
Thanks !

Hi,
To achieve your desired usage scenario, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure your router is functioning and has an internet connection.
2. Set up the camera by following these instructions: How to set up the Tapo camera.
3. After successfully configuring the camera, set up your desired features (e.g., Detection, Storage & Recording). Then, disconnect the internet from the router or block the camera's internet access. After that, the features that do not require the internet will work, such as Detection and Storage features, but other features won't, such as Notifications.
4. For establishing an RTSP/Onvif connection with Home Assistant on the same network, refer to these instructions: How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol.
Best regards

I'm trying to login to www.tplinkcloud.com but it doesn't work. I reset my password and I can login with it here, but not on that website. When I try to use these credentials to connect Home Assistant, it's not working either.

Okay so apparently TP-Link cannot handle special characters in passwords. I reset my password to using only letters and numbers and now I can login to the tp link cloud.
Absolutely and utterly shameful coming from a "technology" company.

Hi,
1. The website(www.tplinkcloud.com) has nothing to do with the Tapo camera. It's unable to watch or manage the Tapo camera on that website.
2. If you want your Tapo camera to integrate with Home Assistant, you can go to the Tapo app > Me > Tapo Lab > Third-Party Compatibility page to turn on the Third-Party Compatibility option and check if it helps. However, please note that enabling this option may introduce certain privacy risks, and we are unable to provide support for such unauthorized open-source platforms.
