@Kevin_Z Thanks for helping. I have not tried latest stable 1.2.1 Build 20250610, as it is not availabe for my region yet (Japan). My router also refuse to install 1.2.1 from global version.
If you have link to the build for JP ver, please share it.
I don't use any gaming feature, just try to turn it on/off during testing the connection.
Wireless speed is fine before and after AI QoS, I can reach max speed 2-2.5 Gbps with low ping in either cases. But beta firmware is more reliable, no random disconnect with router, so I don't want to revert to 1.1.6
I also tested with multiple band (2.4 & 5Ghz, MLO, 6Ghz), the problem presents in all bands.
@ShiroNek0 Thank you very much for all the detailed information once again.
To help assist and streamline the identification of the behavior, I've forwarded your case to our support engineers, who will contact you with your registered email address later.
Please keep an eye on your email inbox for a follow-up.

Kevin: I'm sorry to hear that. Does this mean the internet stops working if you keep the DoT enabled? Which DoT server were you using on the GE800?
If the pre-release 1.2.2 is not working correctly in your network, please try downgrading to the official 1.2.1 version to see if the internet is functioning correctly when enabling DoT.
raven-au: Yes, I used dns.quad9.net on two occasions and changed to the google servers the last time it happened, not sure I gave the google server a fair chance though.
The last time I did this I was using 1.2.1.
Kevin: Are you saying this DoT behavior occurred on both the 1.2.1 official version and the 1.2.2 pre-release version? I hope other users can also confirm this.
@ShiroNek0 Is it possible for you to help check whether the internet is working if you configure the dns.quad9.net as a DoT server on the GE800? Here is a guide to configure DoT/DoH on the router.

Kevin: For the client list concern, I hope you can work with our engineering team to investigate it further, as that requires the development team's involvement.
raven-au: I've sent a reply to a mail I received from support ... not sure I'll be able to do much though because I have changed back to my BE85s and I'm not sure when I will be able to return to the GE800. There's been quite a bit of inconvenience and the family is getting a bit unhappy ... not to mention I really do need to get some work done ...
Kevin: Completely understand it. No worries. I will notify the engineers that they can continue with this troubleshooting when it's convenient for you later. Family needs go first.

Will do, when son is finished playing ARK.@raven-au well that's disappointing.
I also noticed that I can't downgrade, I guess that was mentioned in the notes but introducing unstable features and preventing a revert is not going to work too well, particularly since you don't bother to update your web site with new firmware, like is 1.2.1 ok for use in AU, if so why is it not present on the download pages for AU. Of course I'm assuming the released 1.2.1 is the point at which you can't downgrade below ...
Kevin: You are right. The latest 1.2.1 official version doesn't allow downgrading to the previous 1.1.x version due to significant firmware modifications.
This 1.2.1 version is officially published on the website, such as the global website. However, there is a delay on the local websites, as they regularly publish the firmware on Fridays. You can check the local website for the latest version, which could be available by the end of the week.
raven-au: But can't I do a long press on the reset button and get a firmware upload prompt at which I could upload a 1.1.x version?
Kevin: Nope. You cannot downgrade to the previous 1.1.x version by pressing the reset button.
While I believe our development team can make a new firmware to help with this downgrade request. If you require to downgrade the firmware in the future, please make a request to the engineer with whom you're in touch.

@Kevin_Z Yesterday things got so bad I was sure I had a hardware problem.
I did a factory default reset and re-configured the router.
Things were ok for a while but suddenly the web console read 0 devices and the Tether app stopped updating the device list completely.
I can't exactly remember the sequence of events now but I ended up not being able to log in to the device at all, it would simply return to the password prompt every time.
The web console (probably crashing) and fairly frequently returning to the login prompt has been common with these firmwares but I've never been unable to login.
So I thought it was a hardware problem.
I went to the tech shop and bought another GE800 and on the way home I thought I really should try earlier firmware before opening the new router so I can return it if I'm wrong about the hardware being faulty, just in case.
Fyi, I had installed 1.2.1 before things went really bad ...
So I did a recovery install of 1.1.5 and did update it to 1.1.6 as part of the install.
It's been about 18 hours and the router is still working ok.
I rebooted it this morning and it didn't reset to factory defaults as has happened a number of times now with the newer firmware.
The device list is still a problem but is very much better than it was.
So I'l be returning the new router.
I have to say this is clear evidence, regardless of my environment, that this is a firmware problem with the newer DNS and AI functionality!

With firmware version 1.1.8 or later (1.1.8, 1.2.1, 1.2.2), only IPV4 Internet connections can be made with v6 plus. https://ipv6-test.com/ IPV6 becomes Not supported. Which version solves the problem?

@toby_nao Was the IPv6 supported before installing the 1.1.8 pre-release version?
Can you please show me how you configure the settings on the GE800 WAN/Internet? Please mask part of the MAC and WAN IP for your network security.

@raven-au Did you install the 1.1.5 version by pressing the reset button to make the router go into recovery mode as per this guide? As I learned that GE800 doesn't allow that.

@Kevin_Z Well, I discovered it by accident when reseting to factory defaults.
It seems that if you hold down the reset button longer than usual, say 15 or maybe 20 seconds, the router goes into a recovery mode that allows uploading of firmware.
So, no, not quite like either of those recovery methods.
I should also mention that 1.1.6 is still behaving normally, a few to few device list entries but no reboot resets to factory default and no login prompt returns straight to login prompt.

IPv6 was supported in 1.1.6. Even after version 1.1.8, when I turned off IPv6 on the IPv6 Internet screen, disconnected from the Internet, and then turned it back on, an IPv6 connection was established for a certain period of time (about 1 hour), but after that, the IPv6 connection stopped.
