Guest network no VPN issue - Tp Link Archer BE230 BE3600
How to get guest network devices to use VPN set up using VPN Client feature? Yes, the VPN works fine and there is no AP Isolation either and also allowed guest devices to access local network too! Router can pick guest network devices and assign them VPN as well but we get "Connected to WiFi without Internet" errors!

Hello @onelink,
Welcome to our community.
If a client connected to the guest network switches to the primary network, can it still access the internet via VPN? Please check if the client's Mac address has changed.
Just so you know, if the Mac address changes, the VPN entry will no longer take effect. You'll need to reconfigure the VPN entry for the device.

No switching here between guest to primary network. Guest devices are connected to guest network and that's all there is. MAC not changing either.
Primary network with VPN Client working alright. Able to pick devices on Guest network too so they can use VPN.
But now we got no Internet on them.
(I also got a webspellchecker dot com pop up here!? Do you really need such intrusive service here as all browsers support this.)

I'd like to add that even primary network devices also failed to get working Internet with VPN client on!
How did you not rectify such basic checks beforehand really? And no, we can't test with Beta firmwarers like this when units are under production use. And of course, downgrade should be a right and not something that's taken away by change of firmwares as users may miss out on features because of it.

Hello@onelink ,
Thanks for replying to me.
We're actively working to address this unintended behavior swiftly and will do our best to prevent this from happening again.
Have you tried the firmware provided in the link? If not, we also respect your decision.
Also, what's your VPN type? I'll escalate your case to the support engineers, and they'll follow up on it. Please also provide your VPN files and backup files.

You first must ensure to allow for downgrades of firmwares all the way back to factory installed version 1.0 for all users irrespective of issues. This should be our right not yours to take away as features get removed or added otherwise.
Now come to think of it, I am not able to find this 1.0 firmware, why? And finally, no. we are not going to test any unstable Beta softwares on production usage. And how on earth you are asking users to provide with their backup files and VPN files? These are extrememly private info! How are you even allowed to ask for it I wonder? Does TP-Link have no concern here? What privacy protection measures being taken for such submission? Data retention rights, erasure, GDRP?

Hello@onelink ,
Thanks for getting back.
If you're unable to downgrade the firmware directly, it's usually because the new firmware is a major upgrade. Conventional firmware downgrade methods may cause some issues.
I've tried to forward your question to our engineer. If you still wish to downgrade the firmware, the engineer can assist you through the standard process.
Beta firmware is also released after testing. We've received some user feedback suggesting it may resolve issues, so we recommend trying it to address your most pressing needs.
Of course, we always respect your choice. If you don't want to try the beta firmware, you can wait for the new firmware release. We are also actively working on the new firmware release process.
Using professional tools to analyze data such as backup files and system logs can quickly identify issues, allowing engineers to provide you with the appropriate solution more quickly and efficiently.
Access to this data requires user consent and is performed in a secure environment. Therefore, please do not worry about security issues.
Of course, as always, our analysis of your product issue is based on your consent, and we will never unauthorizedly request information you don't want to provide.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Seems like you missed it but where is the factory version 1.0? Can't find it. Paste the link. And ask the enginner to post the steps here so everyone can learn.
And downgrade must become a standard across such products with full warranty coverage regardless of any issues from such process.
Users must be allowed to test freely and as per their liking and not confined within such walls due to any changes made.
And yes, there are concerns about your privacy already as the settings options even have tabs to ask users whether they wanna share
their connected client device info to third parties! Not even Apple or Google allows access to such device specific info to apps or even to
networks.
