Model: Deco X60

I have deco x60 v3.2 (2 units)

Sometimes I see the led flashing red in the second unit (that is connected through wifi with the first master unit)

both units are manually updated to 1.6.0

is this the last stable firmware?

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that your second Deco Mesh unit, which is connected via Wi-Fi to the main unit, sometimes shows a flashing red LED. Both units are updated to firmware version 1.6.0, and you are wondering if this is the latest stable firmware and whether you should provide logs.

flashing red LED on a satellite Deco Mesh unit typically means it has lost connection to the main unit and is showing as 'offline' in the Deco app. Here are some steps you can follow to restore the connection:

1. Wait for 3-5 minutes to see if the satellite unit recovers automatically. Sometimes, the connection is restored without any intervention.
2. If you have recently reset the main Deco unit, you may also need to reset and reconfigure the satellite unit.
3. If only one satellite unit is flashing red while others are fine, the issue is likely with that specific unit. Ensure it is within Wi-Fi range of the main Deco and try rebooting it by unplugging its power.
4. If all satellite units are flashing red, the issue may be with the main Deco. Check the LED color on the main Deco and try rebooting it.
5. Remove any Ethernet cables temporarily from the satellite unit to see if it recovers.
6. In the Deco app, go to MORE > ECO Mode (if available) and make sure ECO Mode is turned off.
7. If the issue persists or happens frequently, please contact TP-Link support and provide the results of the above troubleshooting steps.

Regarding the firmware version, 1.6.0 is currently one of the latest stable releases for Deco X60 v3.2, but we recommend checking the official TP-Link website for your specific model to confirm if there is a newer version available. If you continue to experience issues, providing logs and detailed information to support may help with further diagnostics.

Let us know if you need more help or have any other questions.

Hi, I understand that this is an AI reply or something automated. Thank you for the steps. I confirm that the satellite unit recovers automatically. This behavior started after 1.6.0 firmware. Regarding the frequency, it happened 3-4 times since the upgrade.
Also the Greek page and the Nethelands page is showing that the last version is 1.3.0

Seems that these pages are outdated

Sorry for the late reply yes the answer you got was from a bot we are testing, Since the problem started after a firmware update let me get your logs so we can get one of the senior engineeries to look at them.

Could you please also help me submit the Deco APP log here:

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Does it make any difference after replacing the satellite Deco X60 much closer to the main Deco?

Have you factory reset the Deco once after the firmware upgrade?

-(or it is also suggested to set another Deco as the main Deco to see whether the disconnection follows a specific Deco or stays in the same location.)

How to replace the main Deco with another Deco

Later, if the satellite Deco X60 turned red again, can you connect the PC via an Ethernet cable to this Deco and log into the web UI to save the current system log:

Deco web interface login

-You can forward the log to support.forum@tp-link.com

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Good Morning,

Does it make any difference after replacing the satellite Deco X60 much closer to the main Deco?
The second unit, which is experiencing the issue, is currently connected and provides internet to my PC via an Ethernet cable. Moving it closer to the main Deco is not an option at the moment. Even if I was able to move it, monitoring the problem would still be difficult because the disconnection occurs randomly.

No I haven't tried the steps above. Should I factory reset the units after the upgrade?

Currently the logs have been provided through the app ;) hope you found them. In any case I will provide logs with the way you wrote me.

thanks for the answer

FYI the logs submitted thru the app are not as in depth as the ones you can submit via the web ui. You should submit the ones from the web ui :)

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

A factory reset/power restart would be the quickest way to exclude the random factors. Sometimes, when applying the new firmware, some network configurations might not be properly synced from the previous version and conceal potential hazards leading to network instability.

By the way, I also found the App log. It would be much better if you could also save the system log on the offline Deco.

Best regards.
