Shared cameras events/ properties cannot be controlled by family members while defining automations

Hello,

it seems that triggers (like "movement detected") or actions (like "Privacy off") of the cameras shared with "family members" cannot be accessed by family members invited while defining new automations or shortcuts, for all the cameras.

Considering family members cannot inherit existent automations (another known fact) they must redefine them, so this is a BIG, BIG limitation.

While defining an automation as invited guest, I can for example see shared sensor and their triggers (like open, close) but shared cameras do not even appear in the list of devices when I have to pick up triggers or actions while creating an automation.

Support told me family members don't have full access to the settings, I know, but there is no reason for example to let the triggers unavailable, and in fact for the sensors I have the full list of status. Why for the camera not? Looks like something could not be implemented or was not implemented yet, certainly not like a choice or strategy (sensor yes and camera no, it is inconsistent!)

Please fix that.

  @emmesiv

Hi,
The permissions for shared accounts differ across product lines. For Tapo cameras, shared accounts can only access the camera's Live View, Talk, Voice Call, Pan/Tilt Control, and SD Card Video features. Shared Doorbells will also provide quick response and Ring/Call Features.

Thank you for your feedback and feature request to allow the shared account to set camera triggers and actions in automation. While we don't have specific details on whether this feature can be added to the product or when it might be, I'll log the feature request and pass it along to the relevant team for evaluation.
I moved this conversation into the 'Feature Request (Tapo)' area for better visibility. If other users have the same request, please vote on this thread or leave your comments.

Best Regards
