I have a Tapo doorbell that was working fine and overly picking up movement and people and running battery down in like 3 days. It lost charge completely and I forgot to charge it for a week. Now it's back up and not picking up people at all any ideas?

Hi,
You can try pressing the power button for three seconds to turn off the camera, then pressing the power button again for three seconds to turn it back on, and then check whether the detection feature works.

If not, please refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?

Please confirm the following information if the same phenomenon persists.
  1. What are the doorbell camera's model number, hardware version, and firmware version?
  2. Please send us the screenshots of the camera's detection, the detection zones, and the enabled detection types pages.
  3. Can the camera detect other events, such as motion, vehicle, etc.?

Best Regards

  @Tapo2026

Hi,
If your doorbell camera is battery-powered, you can refer to the instructions below to learn how to wake it up. And due to the camera's working mechanism, the objects moving directly towards the camera may not be detected to some extent.
What is the Wake-up Sensitivity of my battery camera/doorbell?

You can also refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot: What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?

Best Regards
