  @Kevin_Z Are there plans to update the BE550 Pro v1.6 or can this firmware be used on the BE550 Pro? I also picked up a BE700 Pro v1.6 and it would be great if it could extend MLO/IOT/Guest. thanks

Please @Kevin_Z don't forget V1 users for this IMPORTANT upgrade !!

I supose there is not hardware limitation ?

Thanks and regards

Are there plans for a firmware upgrade for BE550 V1 to fix this IoT replication issue over Ethernet Backhaul? Or has the V1 project been abandoned in favor of V2? I would like to know if I should wait for an update or look for a different router.

Daniel

  @oliiilo I submitted an email support ticket. https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/contact-technical-support/#E-mail-Support

Edit: Nevermind. The e-mail support was useless. It gave back an 'AI' response stating the obvious; Extended 6G/MLO/IOT/Guest is not supported.

@Kevin_Z I bought 2x BE550 v1 last year, im interested in a 3rd router.

I have these options:

1. return the 2x BE550 v1 to tplink in exchange for v2 and purchase a 3rd BE550 v2
2. keep the 2x BE550 v1 in hopes extension of IOT / Guest will arrive soon to those models and purchase a 3rd BE550 to complete wifi coverage.
3. return both and buy something from a different company.

Im happy if I have to wait a few months for a new firmware, but we need some indication if these features are coming to v1, this is a premium and expensive produce and the marketing implied these features and they are still not available and its not clear if people stuck with v1 versions even though they purchased not long ago, will get these important updates.

If not can you connect me with someone in tplink that could help me exchange for a v2 model?

Using a BE700 PRO v1.6: Given that Guest/IoT/MLO are not extended, is there any security risk of using the 2.4/5GHz as an IoT network and use MLO from the main router for my personal network? Does the 2.4/5GHz network still have access to files on my MLO personal network?

Hi @Kevin_Z, I am a new user in this forum. The beta release of BE550 v2 firmware really helped me in setting up easymesh between my BE550 V2 (main), RE655BE (satellite) and RE225BE (satellite) respectively. From Tether app I can see IoT network shown on both satellite units but hardly any IoT devices nearby connected to them directly. All back connected to my main router. When I seat next to RE665BE for example and forced my iphone to connect to IoT network (2.4GHz) - its connected but to the main eventhough the signal is weaker (from main). I verified the connection status from the Tether app and found my iphone connected to IoT netwrok from the main device. How can I can I fix / futher validate the problem?

  @Kevin_Z

BE550 V2 main wired to BE230 V2 as satellite.

Been running the beta firmware a couple of days and it's running fine.

If I set a MLO SSID (2.4 & 5g) on the BE550, it does not carry over to the BE230.  Guessing this could be the firmware on BE230 ?.

BE550 Lan port 1 wired to Lan port 1 on BE230

The connection gets reported as 2500 on BE550 and only 1000 on the BE230 (the port 1 is 2500). Wrong as both ports are 2500.

BE550 Lan port 1 on BE550 to WAN port on BE230 get reported as 2500 on both machines correctly.

BE550 Lan port 1 on BE550 to Lan port 2 on BE230 reports connection of 1000 on both machines, correct as Lan port 2 is only 1000 on BE230.

😀

  @Kevin_Z What about the AX55 PRO US v2? It´s been 2 years since its last firmware update. Are you guys actually working on any updates at all? Bought 5 of these and the one and only function that I was looking for doesn't work due to lack of support.
Thanks!
