Thanks for getting back.

To conclude, there are three issues with two BE550s connected via EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul:

1. The IoT device names cannot be synchronized from the main to the satellite. That means the IoT device names show "A" when connected to the main BE550, and "B" when connected to the satellite. Please correct me if I understand it incorrectly.

2. The Tether App doesn't display the clients for those connected to the main and the satellite.

3. You're not able to login to the web page of the main BE550.

Since you've reset both of them and the issue persists, I assume these issues may be related to the main BE550's configuration. Would you please try resetting the two BE550s one more time, swap the satellite and the main, configure the satellite as the main, and then confirm whether the mentioned issues disappear?

Once the main BE550 configuration is complete, please export and save the configuration file in case we need it for further analysis.

If the mentioned issues persist after you add the satellite BE550, please email us at support.forum@tp-link.com the configuration file.

A follow-up on this.

I've uploaded a new version of the pre-release firmware to my original post that fixes the client list display issue.

Please upgrade and install it on both of your BE550v2. Let me know if there is still an issue.

  @Kevin_Z

Thank you I am going to reconfigure everything today and test this weekend. I will follow up with any updates.

I have just reset both routers and upgraded to the newest beta release you provided. Going to swap the main and satellite and reconfigure.

Providing an update:

So far I have not run into any issues after updating to the latest beta firmware and swapping the two devices.

Client names are transferring properly between both BE550s.

As of now, tether is still showing the client list and I am still able to log into the web UI.

More options for EasyMesh and especially Fast Roaming with 802.11r Support is great additions via fw, hope to see these additions for other models too.

Re:Enhanced EasyMesh Support with Extended Guest/IoT/MLO Networking and Advanced Features for BE550 V2
Yesterday

  @Kevin_Z

I must have jinxed something.

My phone's notifications started going off over and over again and it was Tether. All client were rejoining the network.

I noticed that nothing was connecting to the satellite and after checking settings noticed the traffic separation was set to off.

I also noticed that any clients I had renamed are no longer named, they have rejoined as if it was the first time joining.

All other settings, SSIDs, Passwords, etc seem to be set up still. After reenabling traffic separation, clients rejoined the satellite.

Other notes...Earlier this morning I noticed the traffic usage menu would not load and on the Tether homepage was displaying 700TB of traffic in the last week.

@Kevin_Z
1. I see it mentions "Leveraging the EasyMesh R3 specification, this update introduces Traffic Separation, enabling seamless extension of the main router’s Guest Network and dedicated Multi-Network SSIDs to all compatible satellite units". "Meshing" with the guest WIFI is exactly what I need, where can I see a list of "compatible satellite units", I have a TP Link RE715X 2.0 Firmware 1.2.6.

2. Also, can it be confirmed Bandwidth can be limited on the Guest and Multi-Network SSID when in a EasyMesh configuration, will the bandwidth be limited at the satellite unit also?

3. Can the router and satellite unit be hardwired?

Thanks in advance Mick D

  @Kevin_Z Will the EasyMesh features be coming to the AX90? In addition, will the random rebooting issue on the AX90 be fixed?
