Ethernet back hauling
I’m hoping for some advice.
I have three Deco units in a fairly old house with thick walls. I’m on Sky Gigafast FTTP.
My main Deco is connected directly to the Sky Hub 4.2 (Wi-Fi disabled). From there, the other two Decos connect wirelessly — one upstairs and one downstairs in the conservatory. All set to access point
From the router, I run a network switch that connects:
- Sky Q box
- Xbox
- TV
I also have an Ethernet cable running from the router to the conservatory, where it connects via a switch to:
- Sky Q Mini
- Second Xbox
- TV
At the moment, the Deco in the conservatory has a weak signal, so I’m considering wiring it via Ethernet.
My question is about the best connection order:
- Should it be Router → Switch → Deco, or
- Router → Deco → Switch?
What’s the recommended setup for best performance and stability?
Tia
