Hi Folks, Hope someone can offer help quickly as I'm behind with chores and packing!

This always happens just as I'm going away and need the security of contact with the camera vai my iPad (for convenience of a decent size screen!)

I seem to have no problems viewing on the phone thankfully, so all is not lost!
 

On the iPad, opening the App, I see a dimmed down view of the cameras view overlaid with "tap to refresh" and a banner at the top showing a waste bin and underneath saying "The main view cannot be removed"!!

I just need to know how to "unfreeze" the App.

Anyone able to solve this?

EDIT: I have been "allowed" to finally use the three dots at the top of the iPad screen and had the option to "Close" , evidently different to just pressing "Home", as I once more have permission to view the camera! 🤣

 

You might be able to advise me about RTSP Streaming to my PC Via VLC though: This has worked like a dream for over a year, but today I can't get the "Log-In) box to appear, so can't enter the password to complete the connection!

Any ideas?

Hi, 
In your situation, please ensure your computer and camera are on the same network, then check whether you can ping the camera's IP address from your computer.
How to use the Ping command
 

If the connection between the computer and the camera is working, please try to establish the RTSP stream again in VLC and check if that works.
How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol
