If I'm outside my home network, and using my mobile data, the Tapo app will physically kill off my data connection when I open the Live View of my C120 camera.

 

Sometimes it is requiring me to do a full reset of my connections to get my data plan functioning again.

 

Another user on Reddit, reported the same exact issue.

Hi,
When you stream the camera remotely, please turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and use mobile data only, then test if the same phenomenon persists. If so, please provide the following information.


  1. When using mobile data on your phone, and after the Tapo app is opened, does the LTE signal icon disappear until the Tapo app is closed, or does it repeatedly disappear > appear > disappear? Are you able to view the camera's live feed in the app?


  2. What's the OS version of your Pixel 9? What's the Tapo app version?


  3. Please try to stream the camera via mobile data on a different phone if you have one, then test if the reported phenomenon recurs.


  4. Try a different SIM card from a different ISP.
