Model: Deco X50-DSL
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

Hi

I was using Deco M4 3 pack connected to vr900 dsl router then i had this "brilliant idea" to replace the router with x50 dsl, i was expecting to have more features than the current M4, but i was shocked that most of the encouraging features has been gone:

Iot Network gone

Guest network bandwidth control gone

Reboot schedule gone

Parental control: set time limit and bedtime are now paid features

I wish i knew the outcome before i invested money and time on it

Is there will be a new Firmware to add those features any time soon?

Is there's a way to set the M4 as main unit and use the x50 as router while being all at the same mesh network?

Thank you.

Hi, welcome to the community.

I'm afraid there hasn't been any news about the new firmware release plan for the Deco X50-DSL. It is recommended to pay attention to the firmware release notification on the Deco App.

If you don't mind, you can set two Deco networks:

One for Deco X50-DSL only; the other for Deco M4

How to create a new network in the Deco app

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @Mayyad

Hi,
You may need the VR900 router to create two separate Deco networks. Once you have confirmed that the VR900 router is functioning correctly:
  1. Connect the Deco X50-DSL unit to the VR900 via an Ethernet cable, and then configure it in the Deco app.
  2. Connect a Deco M4 unit to the VR900 using another Ethernet cable, create a new Deco network specifically for that unit, and then add other Deco M4 units to the new Deco network.

Best Regards
