Device limit reached - nothing helps - video of burglar can't be played

Firmware Version: 1.2.26

Dear Support,

on Saturday, someone broke into my house.

I use two Tapo C425 cameras.

The burglar is on one camera.

No account shared, no device shared, I am the only one with access.

However, when I try to view the video, I get error message "Device limit reached for playing video".

Of course the police does have severe interest in getting hands on the video tape.

I did reboot, reset the camera.

I did share the camea with my wife, and she can't play the video either.

Password of my TP Link account was changed.

No success.

I took the SD and wanted to extract the video on my laptop (windows 11), and could not find it.

What else can I do?
Frankly said, I start to ask myself why I was paying money for a camera which can't show me the most important video I need.

Best wishes,

Hi,
I understand your situation, and sorry for the inconvenience caused. We will do our best to help you, and please provide the following information about this case. Thanks!

  1. On the Tapo app > camera's Playback & Download > Playback > SD card page, please try to play the video clip and send us a picture of the Playback page that displays the video and the error message.

  2. What's your phone's model number and OS version? Is only one phone logged into the Tapo app with your TP-Link account?

  3. Please connect the SD card to your laptop, and you can usually view the recordings as follows. Then, please send us a picture showing all the videos' names(as shown in the image under Q2 of the FAQ below).
How to view camera SD card recordings on a computer

You can upload the pictures to your cloud server (such as Google Drive) or YouTube, generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Best Regards
