C560
Hi Tapo Community,
I’m using a Tapo C560 WS (firmware 1.1.8) to monitor my holiday home, which experiences temperatures down to -30°C. The wired power and cold weather performance of the C560 WS is perfect for my use case.
However, I’ve discovered that remote SD card downloads (without being on the same WiFi network) don’t work on the C560 WS, while they do work on the C660 KIT — which is confirmed in the official TP-Link support documentation.
I looked at the C660 KIT as an alternative, but its operating temperature is only rated down to -20°C, which rules it out for my location.
Both cameras are running the same firmware (1.1.8) and have very similar specs:
• C560 WS: 4K 8MP, wired power, dual-band WiFi, IP65, operating temp -20°C to 45°C (wired, no battery limitation)
• C660 KIT: 4K 8MP, solar/battery powered, dual-band WiFi, IP65, operating temp -20°C to 45°C
Since the feature clearly exists in the Tapo platform (it works on the C660 KIT), my question is:
Is remote SD card download planned for the C560 WS in a future firmware update?
This would be the ideal solution — keeping the cold-weather-capable wired camera while gaining remote access to recordings. Tapo Care isn’t ideal for my needs as I only need to download approximately one clip per week.
Would love to hear from other C560 WS users or TP-Link staff. Thanks!
