I've got 2 extenders (WA850RE and WA855RE) Can I use them sequencially so the signal expands even further? How do I do it?

I read something about converting one into an access point (is it that?) but I didn't understand it. Can someone help me?

Thank you!!

Hello everyone,

Here is a related QA- Part3

Q3.6 Can I use more than 1 range extender in the house? Can I connect a wifi extender to another wifi extender?

It is not very recommended wirelessly connecting one range extender to another, as the performance of the second extender could be unsatisfactory.

  • If you have more than one range extender, please make sure that the range extenders are both connecting to the host router's Wi-Fi network directly.

Topology : RE1 )))(( Router )))(( RE2

Other network topologies: or you could wire one of the Range Extenders to the front end(router or RE1) and use it in AP mode for best performance .This requires one of the range extender supports AP mode.

It not recommended to use the second extender to extend the first extender's( in range extender mode) wifi signal, it may cause the internet speed issue and network dropping issue.

It is recommended to use two extenders to extend the router's wifi signal.

If you want to use the first extender in Access point mode, you will need to connect this extender to your router with an Ethernet cable instead of wifi. In this way, you can also use the second extender to extend the first extender's wifi.

To learn more about access point mode, you can refer to this manual:https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-1143.html

@ItaGON . Make sure that the second extender is connected independently to the router instead of working as a slave extender.
