I bought 2 X50-POE access points to extend my mesh network now composed by 2 X60.

I would like to try an Ethernet backhaul configuration, since I have an Ethernet type 6 wired connection to both new locations.

I was considering buying a TL-SG108PE, but I am not certain this is the ideal switch for this configuration:

Internet router (cable) - Switch -

1) X50 #1 (POE)

2) X50 #2 (POE)

3) Empty (POE)

4) Empty (POE)

5) X60 (main) (the secondary X60 is WiFi only)

6) Wired PC

7) NAS (actually a AirPort Extreme with a USB HD)

8) Empty.

My main questions are:

1) Can I expect this to work, as I am assuming a mixed WiFi and Ethernet backhaul?

2) Will the POE power be enough for the 2 X50?

thanks in advance

  @amgraca

Hi, The Power budget of TL-SG108PE would be enough for 2*Deco X50-POE.

You will also get a mixed WiFi and Ethernet backhaul.

Q2: How much power does Deco X50-PoE consume when powered by PoE?

US version: Up to 18W.

EU version: Up to 14.4W.

Best regards.

  1. Yes, you can expect this setup to work with a mixed WiFi and Ethernet backhaul configuration.

  2. The TL-SG108PE should provide enough PoE power for both X50 access points.
