Model: Deco BE85   Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20241023 Rel. 34667

Hello,

This is all very frustrating, hopefully, I can get some good feedback on what might be wrong to get the constant disconnects to be resolved once and for all.

Our setup

Internet (ethernet) -> BE85 -> Wireless backhaul to x3 Deco x50 -> Ethernet connection from PC to Deco X50

So the only wireless setup for our 4 PCs is between BE85 and Deco x50.

We play (in the family), Fortnite, Warcraft and Hearthstone together. All games get disconnected, every once in a while (a few times per hour), but Hearthstone is the worst. In that game, we get disconnected and instantly (within 2-10 seconds) reconnected again. It's super frustrating due to how it affects gameplay.

Troubleshooting

We have tested using Ethernet between BE85 and a PC directly (skipping over the x50 completely), with no disconnects - it works flawlessly. This means there should be no issues with ethernet cables or the BE85 itself (not knowing if the wireless function of the BE85 is the problem).

Settings

Not sure what to include here, listing some of our settings from the Deco app (our network).

  • Wifi-router enabled
  • IPTV VLAN disabled
  • MAC-cloning disabled
  • DDNS disabled
  • Fast roaming disabled
  • Beamforming enabled
  • MLO-network off
  • IPv4, ignore ping from the internet ON
  • IPv6, off

Appreciate all the help we can get, please let me know if any further information and or testing can be done.

Regards,

Kenny

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Deco BE85_1.1.0 has added channel selection. Did it make any difference to select different WiFi channels for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz so that the Mesh Backhaul between Deco BE85 and Deco X50 could also use different channels?

If only one or two PCs are connected to the satellite X50s via an Etherne cable, did the online gaming still get disconnected?

I was wondering whether the single player works well but just not all players together.

For the Mesh topology here:

Internet (ethernet) -> BE85 -> Wireless backhaul to x3 Deco x50 -> Ethernet connection from PC to Deco X50

So the only wireless setup for our 4 PCs is between BE85 and Deco x50.

- For the 4*PCs, Did each of them connect to a different Deco unit?

- Did all three satellite X50s wirelessly connect to the main Deco BE85?(or can I have a picture of the network map on the Deco APP, such as)

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Hello, thank you kindly for taking the time to reply.

Yes, it is the same situation even when only one PC is connected.

So the only wireless setup for our 4 PCs is between BE85 and Deco x50?

Yes

For the 4*PCs, Did each of them connect to a different Deco unit?

Two PC's are connected to one of the x50 (PC -> x50 with ethernet cable)

Other two PC's are connected to another of the three x50 (PC -> x50 with ethernet cable)

Hi, Thank you very much for the update.

I'd like to follow up on your case via email and have sent a beta firmware for test.

Please feel free to update the email whether the beta version makes any difference.

Thanks again and best regards.
