Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20200420 Rel. 28087

Hi,

I bought two Tapo P100 smart plug.

Just now I noticed that exists two different hardware release for this product: 1.0 and 1.2.

I've got both releases.

I added P100 ver 1.0 to the smart actions without any issue.

I tried to add also the other P100 ver 1.2, but I cannot do this action. When I'm trying to add new task within the smart action, this device is reported in grey and is present the message: Supported firmware is coming.

During the installation, firmware has not updated for this device, remaining 1.2.0 Build 20200420 Rel. 28087.

The other P100, the working one, has been updated during the installation with the firmware 1.3.3 Build 20200811 Rel. 52097.

Please, could you explain this strange behaviour?

Device is working fine, except for this feature. But I think that it's important for better smart home integration.

Please, could you say me if you will provide the right firmware also for this device? Or I've to back to the seller asking for changing with 1.0? (since the major release of the same product has got less feature available respect to the old one)

Thanks,

Gaetano

@Gaetano76

Update:

Hi, the firmware of Tapo P100 V1.2 that supports smart action has been released (version number: 1.4.5), but only some users will receive push notifications.

 If the firmware upgrade is not available, please manually check the firmware update in the APP and upgrade to the newest firmware. (Click Me>>Firmware Update)

@TP-Link

How comes I received one V1.0 and a V1.2 both from amazon?

Its the same device, how comes the firmware isn't ready?

I'm able to control the plug 1.2 through Alexa and not from the app Tapo. This is a paradox.

So, with this software level you excluded smart actions for Tapo but the hardware is the same.

With app Amazon Alexa I'm currently able to control power plug and lamps with aggregated functions without any issue.

I was thinking to buy other devices of the Tapo smart home world, but at this point, I've to think better before to proceed with shopping.

For me this is a strange commercial choice for this product.

I hope that the vendor will revise soon the firmware for this product.

BR,

Gaetano

Hi all,

issue was fixed some days ago from tp-link.

Now, also my smart plug  with 1.2 is working fine from TAPO app.

Thanks to tp-link for his reactivity.

Gaetano

@Gaetano76 What firmware version are you on?  I'm still unable to select my 1.2 P100 devices to control with smart actions.
