Hi, I already have a TC60 camera which is 1080p 15fps, provides good image quality and I think probably uses around 8GB of storage per 24 hours of video (either on SD card or at same data rate streamed to an NVR or PC).

I am interesting in getting a C110 3MP camera to try but having looked at some YouTube videos it is hard to tell if the video quality will be significantly better than the 1080p files from the TC60?

Also does anyone know what difference is there in memory usage between the 1080p and 3MP file sizes / storage use / bandwidth requirements?

With the TC60 I find that I can run a 1080p 15fps Network stream to a PC (VLC) at the same time as viewing a live feed on the Tapo app on my phone over wifi which is impressive - is it too much to hope that that multiple 3MP streams could perform as well with the C110?

Any other significant differences in performance and operation? Frame rate? WiFi streaming capability? Anything else to consider?

Thanks in advance.

some correction: @SMARTER ,

They are almost the same except that Tapo C110 supports 3MP (2304*1296), and support larger SD card (256G), Tapo C100 or TC60 supports up to 128G SD cards

3MP's requirement for the upload bandwidth should be a bit higher, please refer to  Q6.3 for some details.

3MP camera could do the same if you wish to stream on VLC player and tapo at the same time.

Hello@SMARTER ,

A very big difference beweenTC60 ( =Tapo C200) and Tapo C110 is that TC60 is a Pan/Tilt camera but Tapo C110 does not have Pan/ Tilt feature.

@Solla-topee - hi and many thanks for responding...

Perhaps you may be thinking about a different model than the TC60? I bought a TC60 and it does not have motorized pan and tilt, it is a static video camera. I was thinking about buying a second static camera and debating between another TC60 and a T110.

Your link to that table of sd card recording times is very useful thank you. It ties in to the fact that 3MP has x1.5 the number of pixels of 1080p so for the same compression quality, 3MP must use 50% more storage.

I found the recording estimates are not too far off what I get with the TC60 for day use but for night use (as I posted in another thread) I found that when the camera is used behind glass, using daytime mode at night (to avoid IR reflections from a window) the increased noise in the video makes the files about five times larger than expected, so the sd card recording times will get much worse during long winter nights if IR mode is not usable as it the case for me.

@SMARTER  Hello,  glad to hear that you could make a choice on the cameras and find the preferred one. I made some corrections in the last reply, trying to talk about TC70(Tapo C200)/ Tapo C210 before... I noticed your another thread about the IR Led , I will need to confirm with our team about that and get back to you later.  Have a nice day!
