OK, so was not that impressed with the Kasa App, very limited.  Only 4 presets and groups seem a bit limited.

It turns out using the SmartThings app solved all my problems, mutch more flexable.  Dont even need the SmartThings Hub.

Wondering if I need the Kasa App or can I just get rid of it and link directly to SmartThings the app? 

Going through the Kasa App is a little laggy.

Thanks for reaching out to us. 

Yes. You just need to use the kasa app to set up the TP-Link smart device, then add TP-Link smart device on the smarthing app. After that, you can control devices directly from smarthing app.

How to configure the Kasa device to work with SmartThings APP?
