Hello everyone,
Good News! The widget is now available on IOS devices and Android devices with the latest Tapo app.
Below is the instruction to use the Widget feature on your phones.
How to use Widgets to control your Tapo Devices and Tapo Shortcuts?
If you have any problems when using the widget feature, it's suggested to Start a new Thread with the following information for further analysis.
1. Describe your problem in detail.
2. The model number and OS version of your phone that installed the Tapo app.
3. The version of the Tapo app.

Not having widgets for android is a huge gap, I've had to move from Kasa as the Kasa devices have become hard to find. But no widgets, had I realised I would have gone to another brand. Having two control apps is workable with widgets not really without.

I think of a workaround may be helpful.
Tapo now supports IFTTT, in the IFTTT, there is a Button Widget applet available, you may give it try if you would like to install the ifttt app.
IFTTT website or app> search for button > add a button widget > search Tapo brand > select your smart device

I just bought my first tapo device and I didn't expect no widgets on Android!
This is a very basic feature. This has to be implemented next update.

@Solla-topee Hi! I've bought 2 of the smart bulb products and I'm using them from an Android phone.
I would appreciate very much if you could provide a widget for quickly turning on/off the bulbs. It would be unfair to provide this great feature for iOS while denying it from the Android users, we have paid the same amount of money after all. ;-)

Same for me, a widget for no disturb it would be a great option for Android.

It's only a workaround for one or two devices. Because IFTTT is only free for 5 operations.
Please develop a simple widget on/off for your lamps and sockets.
