KS230 KIT V2 - red light
Hello, I successfully and easily installed the 3 HS200P3 that I bought.
Unfortunately, I failed to install and operate the KS230 KIT V2.
I followed your installation videos exactly for the 2 dimmers and the WIFI light remains red without blinking, I tried the reset and restart buttons, nothing works. The WIFI light on the switch stays red.
Also, once installed, I can't even manually turn it on or off.
Could it be defective?

Hello @Dragontigre
Thank you reaching out to the community! Really appreciated for the case details~
For KS230 V2 solid Red/ Solid Orange, please follow tips here to isolate the issue:
1. Please check if you can manually turn on/ off the light when pressing main or satellite KS230 .
If the switch can't be manually controlled, that could be due to improper or incorrect wiring on the switch.
Please identify the wires in the circuit as KS230 below:
KS230 V2: How to Install My Kasa Smart 3-Way Dimmer Switches (KS230 KIT V2)
KS230 V1 : How to Install My Kasa Smart 3-Way Dimmer Switches (KS230 KIT V1)
2. Try to factory reset the KS230 V2.
Factory reset KS230 user UG here
by holding the RESET button (not reboot) for more than 10 secs and see the WiFi Led is flashing Orange & Green
If you can manually turn on/off the light , the Red/Orange on smart switch Wi-Fi Led means the smart device is disconnected from Wi-Fi.
After factory reset, please check if you can see TP-Link smart SSID on the phone? If so, try to set up you're the kasa switch in the app.
If issue persists despite the above steps, please reach support.forum@tp-link.com with title ' Forum ID + KS230 + hardware version + description '
Be sure to provide the information below, our support will continue to help.
1. the photos of wiring of Main and Satellite KS230
2. the photos of wiring of the old 3 way switch (if you kept the photos)
3. Can you manually turn on/off the KS230
4. Did you incorrectly connect the wiring in the circuit/ or install differently as the installation video (KS230 KIT V2)
Thank you very much.

Since the KS230 v2 powers on.. this should mean you got the line and neutral right. However the KS230 v2 will flash red until the traveller wires are conected to the dummy switch. If the KS230 dummy switch is connected and the main switch still flashes red.. and the traveller does not light up... it is very likely you do not have the correct traveller wires. It may not be the same colors as what was in the first switch box... it is possible the wire and thus colors may have been switched at a different point.. the traveller wires may not always be straight through between switches.. especially if the light fixture(s) is in the middle.. the wires of the two switches could be meeting at the light fixture.

Nice we have options, and even more so with the "Matter" standard. But last I checked a few months ago, I couldn't find any real viable 3 way smart dimmer where both switches were in synch. Options available at the time I looked were considerably more costly.
