@Solla-topee making the home/away mode part of the automation option would be so helpful.... 

 

Just imagine, setting up an automation with a Tapo button, located in your hallway. You or your family members could click the button to toggle home or away when you arrive or leave the house.  No need to open your phone, go into app...

 

This has been an idea for over a year.. come on make it happen!  👍

I recently bought an S200 button, thinking I could use it so that everyone in the household could activate or deactivate Home/Away mode — only to find out that it’s not possible, even though this feature has been requested for years. I don’t understand how something that seems so basic is still not implemented.

Please, I kindly ask that this very important feature — which so many people have been requesting for a long time — be added. If you haven’t implemented it because of security concerns, then at least let users decide whether or not to use it. I mainly use the cameras to keep an eye on my cats. Not all of us need high-level security. Let us choose. Thank you.

Please bring this feature asap. This is so crucial for the convenience.

Premise:
The current Home and Away modes are too limiting when it comes to creating specific scenarios for each person and/or situation. Right now, I can only set how cameras behave when I am at home or away, but not for other specific situations. I mention this because if you were to implement the ability to control individual camera settings through automations, they might conflict with the current Home and Away modes.

That being said, here is a list of the implementations I believe should be added:

• Manage detections through automations
  Example: if I am at home and it’s past 11 PM, I would like the cameras to detect people, while from 8 AM to 2 PM I would like them to detect pets.

• Manage notifications through automations
  Example: if I am away from home and it’s after 7 PM, I would like to receive notifications only for pet detections, because my housekeeper may arrive at that time and I don’t want hundreds of notifications, but I still want detections to be recorded so I can review them if necessary.

• Manage the alarm through automations
  Example: if I am at home and it’s past 11 PM, I would like the alarm to sound if a person is detected, but not between 6 AM and 10:59 PM.

In summary:
I would like to be able to manage all detection and notification configurations of the cameras through automations, so that many more scenarios and situations can be covered.

Alternative:
Another solution would be to make Home and Away modes switchable automatically through geofencing (instead of having to set them manually every single time). I understand that using Home and Away modes is simpler and quicker, but it allows far less customization.
