  @Wayne-TP  May 19 2025 I tried getting in my camera app to view the previous days activities and it wouldn't let me in , it was doing an update .
After a while I tried getting in through the cell phones app and it said OFFLINE . Well that was the last of the 2 years and 6 months use of the camera .
After doing my own reasearch I realized its how TP-LINK Operates , they do updates to lock camera's so people go buy new ones .
I will do no such thing anymore , I have a TP-LINK Wi-Fi and 5 TAPO Cameras , so I should expect 1 camera at a time as they reach their 2 year purchase to go " BRICK " as the term they are using on the Net !!!
TP-LINK your bad reviews all over the net are going to start as of Today , I was in the Market of buying a better and stronger Router , looks like I'm going for another brand !
I have been trying since last night to reset the C200 , tried so many methods from others who have given their 2 cents and nothing is happening .
Light goes on SOLID RED for a few seconds , camera does 2 clicks and shuts off  , the Reset does Nothing !  0 Stars over 5  0/5  !!

Just want to chime in to say my C210 is also failing, for some reason.  I can get so far as to see the wifi SSID, and even connect to it, and ping.  But the app never connects.  Reset a dozen times, rebooted more, the camera just sticks on flashing red and green, or seems to be in a boot cycle.  It's shameful that Tapo and tp-link don't provide a solution to this horrible problem.

  @TapoUser1980  The camera was close to 2 years old and it did an automatic update and after that it went DEAD as they all call it BRICKED !!!  It was an Amazon Purchase , even tho it said 2 years warranty , Amazon wouldn't help and I reached out to TAPO and they Blew me off too .... F Them , I won't lose !
I made another purchase from Amazon , waited 5 days and then I returned the BRICKED Camera back and got refunded as a defected camera .
The new one I just Clicked off the update as I did to the other 3 cameras from Tapo .... I don't lose , I find ways to get even and benefit from it $$$$ wise !
I hope Tapo READS THIS !

Hi, I recommend checking out the solution I found in this post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/608500?replyId=1347030 I managed to save my C100 camera, but it's also valid for the first-generation C200.

  @Wayne-TP

I think my C520WS was bricked. How can I restore it? I just bought it then there is a power outage that causes it to just show red led. Its behavior is like in a state of boot loop. Can you help?

  @jdcamposano With all due respect , did you read this poosting ? Onced Bricked camera is finished ... No power failures have caused damage to the camera , its the updates that does that .. Contact the company if its less than 2 years old .
An update caused it to go dead .... Good Luck !
