grant/deny permissions for a shared device
Hello everyone,
Latest app allows the Live View, Talk, Voice Call, Pan& Tilt, and Playback&Memory features enabled for shared accounts. As most of these function was not enabled in previous app versions, I know users that are annoyed by this change without any notification. In some cases the administrators don't absolutely want allow the shared accounts to pan/tilt the camera. This is a major issue for tlt/pan cameras already mounted that should stay in a fixed position for security/privacy reasons. For this reason I suggest additional settings in app that allows to select what function is granted/denied to shared accounts.
Thanks

Would it really be that hard to just give the master user the ability to set permissions for each shared device. Grandma can set off the alarm, wife can set off the alarm and turn on the spotlights etc.. This should be a nobrainer.

There should be an option for admin to allow or not allow shared accounts to view old video footage on the cloud.
i share my camera with a tenant, or a super of a building, or a family member visiting, I don't want them to be able to view old camera footage, I just want them to be able to view the camera live, nothing else. Period.

@Summer_S I need to recheck but I'm pretty sure they were able to, unless it was the sd card? Can they view anything stored on the inserted sd card?
have you tested on yours if they are able to? Is there a special setting I haven't seen?

@gk925 The shared account can't access the cloud video clips but can access the video clips stored on the inserted SD card.

I do not think TP-Link does care about what we discuss here. The problem is persistent since year and so far TP-LInk has taken no step to solve it. There is now huge security problem as shared users are now capable of moving the camera away from important point of view. Anything serious happens then will not be captured in camera. Knowing that this is a security issue, TP-Link is reluctant to take any step. I am moving now away from TP-Link to other vendors. TP-Link is no longer safe. This is enough. I will replace all my TP link cameras.

This is an important feature that must be included on the roadmap ASAP.
Granular permissions is something that should be implemented when you share the camera with another account.
+1 to address this situation ASAP.
